I would like to preface this review by saying that to truly evaluate a restaurant, one should dine in rather than rely solely on takeout. Even the best establishments can experience a decline in quality once food has traveled home.

That said, our dining experience was excellent. We began with the sigara börek and the mixed cold appetizer, both of which were fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The hummus was a smoother, more bland style compared to Greek or other Mediterranean versions, while the remaining dips were rich, flavorful, and well-balanced.

We then ordered the Mixed Grill, which exceeded expectations. The steak was exceptionally tender, and each item on the platter was well-seasoned, offering distinct and enjoyable flavors throughout.

We concluded the meal with kunefe. While it was well made, it was thicker and slightly drier than the style I am accustomed to; nevertheless, it was still enjoyable. My only suggestion would be to add a bit more syrup before serving.

Overall, both the food and the service were deserving of a five-star rating. We very much look forward to returning in the near future.

Dear Spartans,
We recently tried the new Mediterranean & Turkish restaurant on Lafayette Rd, and it was such a great experience. The quality of the food truly stands out—fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and some of the tastiest meze’s we’ve had in the area.

The owner and the team were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the whole visit even better. It’s always nice to see a place where hospitality and good food come together so naturally.

If you’re looking to try something new, definitely stop by and support this great addition to our community. Highly recommended.

Spartan Mediterranean is an absolute gem. We started with the hummus and baba ghanoush and both were out of this world — incredibly fresh, smooth, and packed with flavor. The herbed spread was also excellent and paired perfectly with everything on the table.

I ordered the lamb and beef gyro, and it was phenomenal — perfectly seasoned, juicy, and cooked just right. The tzatziki sauce is to die for, easily one of the best I’ve had.

Everything we tried was spot-on, and you can tell there’s real care and quality behind the food. Nothing but success ahead for this place — it’s the kind of restaurant that’s going to be around for a long time. Highly recommend.

I’m sad that we lost a Mexican Restaurant, but I’m very happy we got a Mediterranean restaurant.

The food was so good. We got the Babaganush, falafel to start and then for entrees got the Mixed Chicken Platter and the Beef Shish and Lamb Gyro plate.

It was soooo good. The Babaganush was super flavorful and has a slight smoky flavor. The falafel was crispy delicious

The lamb gyro was sliced thin. It was just crispy on the edges and tender in the middle.

But the big surprise was the mixed chicken platter. So. Much. Chicken. So many kinds of chicken on that plate.

If you’re unsure about Sparta Mediterranean Cuisine and Pizza, ignore your doubt and go.

The food is incredible, the meats were crazy tender and the fresh stuffed grape leaves are home made not the canned stuff. The deserts were top tier and the hospitality was top notch. The owner offered me a tea while I waited. Absolute legend. The pistachio baklava does not play fair, it’s actually too good so order minimum 2 portions.

A wonderful family-friendly spot with delicious, fresh, and truly authentic Mediterranean cuisine. Everything we tried was full of flavor and clearly made with care. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Fresh, still hot and aromatic rice pudding was a perfect choice for dessert! We will definitely be coming back!

An amazing dining experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious — easily one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The presentation was also beautiful.

The service was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and very professional. The staff made us feel welcome and comfortable throughout the entire visit.

I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for excellent food and top-quality service. I will definitely be coming back again! thanks lot Aziz and Mehmet

I tried my absolute best to give this place a chance. I ordered take out on a Friday night so I get that they are going to be busy, but after waiting 45 minutes in the restaurant for my meal that was incorrect and not the best I unfortunately can’t say I will be inclined to come back.

Overall issues
– long wait
– wrong order (no fries which they did offer to get them ‘real quick’ but after waiting for so long I didn’t trust that to be true, a lamb and beef gyro instead of a lamb one, and then the lamb pirzola instead of the chicken)
– incorrect prices (as a heads up they will charge you more then listed on their menu even if you use a debit card)
– not incredible food, I wanted it to be good so bad but I was very unimpressed by the rice and salad and then didnt even get to try what I had actually wanted to order. The meat was very good though from what I got to try. My gyro came with a tortilla instead of a pita…

What I will say is that I feel terrible for the two girls at the cash register that are clearly miserable because of how busy it is. This restaurant was not ready for the influx of people that were going to visit. Almost every person that came in had to wait at least 15 minutes to get their order. The employees were trying their best to manage and very polite, but something very clearly needs to be changed

Another upside is that after charging us for the lamb instead of the chicken they did zelle me the difference. The downside was then when I got to notice that they did charge me more more for my debit card though… $23.79 for the Lamb and beef gyro that was supposed to just be lamb and is on the menu for $22.99 and $30 for the beef shish instead of $28.99 on the menu.

Charge more for credit cards all you want but for a debit card though??? Very shady practice if you ask me. Plus at least have a clear sign saying your going to.

Lamb gyro was literally, the best I have had in a really long time, you can tell it was fresh and cooked traditionally! I had to try their rice pudding and almond pudding, ( I don’t know how to spell the Turkish name), omg so delicious!!! Heavenly!!!

The atmosphere is very peaceful, stylish, and classy.

I am so very happy I live minutes away, and I don’t have to go into the city for great Mediterranean food anymore!

Great delicious fresh food and great service!
I will be back lots!!!

This place is definitely an asset to Sussex County’s cuisine options!!!
