Very kind staff and the food and drinks are amazing. The prices for all the items on the menu are very reasonable. The service was slow, but if you enjoy a laid back lunch this is a perfect place to go eat!

I was anxious to try DeLand Social (new restaurant down the street) however, it was closed because of a family emergency when we arrived.
Sparrow’s Grille was a nice surprise to the last minute plan changes. There is plenty of parking. The entrance is handicap accessible along with the interior of the restaurant. We were seated right away and our drink order was taken.
The menu is two-sided. Perhaps I missed it but I did not see where one side was for lunch only and the other side for dinner only. I tried to order from the entree section and was told that I could only order from the other side of the menu. Both sides of the menu have plenty of options to choose from including vegetarian items.
The food came out quickly, looked beautiful, and tasted great. I wasn’t quite ready for the experience to be over yet so we decided to order dessert. We ordered the key lime pie which was beautifully presented. It came out on a homemade whipped cream type base that was phenomenal. Just dipping the strawberries in there would have been a perfect dessert. The key lime pie itself was very well done.
The restaurant itself is clean, organized, and has a very nice vibe with large windows that overlook the golf course. I would definitely go back.

A pleasant dinner, was seated upon arrival. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was delicious, and above average quality. Prices are also above average but the quality makes it worth the cost. Full bar for drinks, everything except for blended drinks. Wish they had a glutenfree menu, but staff were helpful to inquire what was available.

We were hankering for something new so… we tried Deland Social but they were opening at 3 today. .
So we happed upon Sparrow’s Grille…. WOW!!! They did not disappoint.
The signage could be better as we were not sure we were in the right place. Parking is mostly shaded and reminded me of a State Park.
Was not busy but had a nice atmosphere. We sat by the window which does let some heat in if you are sensitive to that.
I ordered the hamburger and my wife ordered the Cuban. D lish us.
The Cuban was not just cold cuts made into a sandwich. Pickles thick sliced. You tasted everything. Very god.
The hamburger was cooked as I requested, medium well, and server on a toasted bun with lettuce, Tomato, and sweet onion. Very good as well.
With the scenery and great food, definitely recommend.

Always a good time here. Today I tried the Shrimp and Grits. Delicious, Flavorful and Awesome. The staff was great, helpful and attentive. The ambiance and environment was palpable with everyone enjoying their time there.

Not at all happy to walk into our regular brunch place to find that they had new owners that booted our favorite bartender Connie, without any good reason. She was the best part of that place AND the only reason we returned week after week. The new menu is ok but the quality of food definitely does not justify the increased prices. We live within 2 minutes of the place, but will definitely not return. I hope we can find where Connie went.

Now for my complaint. The new chef sucks. Their food now taste like they brought in a senior living chef. The food is bland and boring. As well as the new prices are outrageous considering the food sucks.

Sadly, I must update my review. We went a few weeks ago as we do every week. Our server was very polite and attentive and after she disappeared awhile she can rushing back with a new printed ‘new’ menu. It had 4-5 entrees on it, I the medium to expensive range and nothing else. We were offered ‘pasta’ night as an alternative but we don’t eat much pasta. We asked to speak to the manager. We waited for him and when he didn’t show up, we paid for our drinks and got up to leave. He caught up with us as we got to the door. We asked what happened to the menu and he said ‘everyone’ wanted a new one. I said that’s ok but why don’t you keep some of the previous menu – at a minimum add back appetizers and salads. We were told ‘no one’ wanted the old menu. Not sure who these alleged people are voting on the menu but it wasn’t us! We still love the servers but instead of coming once a week and bringing friends, we might go once a year and only if the reintroduce a salad! Very very disappointing. PS, the menu we saw was not what is posted on the website so I’m not sure what’s up. And to be fair, it was billed as a ‘soft opening’ for new management. Hope our comments are taken seriously.
Sparrow’s Grille is one of our favorite weekly ‘dinner out’ restaurants. Atmosphere is so comfortable. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. The server we usually have is Stephanie. She is absolutely wonderful. She is there when you need her, makes the best drinks, is very knowledgeable about the menu and specials. She is prompt, efficient and friendly. While all the staff is excellent, we enjoy our service from Stephanie. The whole experience makes for a wonderful night out!!
