Sparrow is such a beautiful spot!! Warm, stylish and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The cocktails were excellent, and the menu is incredibly creative and unique. Everything tasted soo fresh and thoughtfully prepared. We tried a mix of appetizers, pastas, pizzas, and entrées, and every single dish was delicious. Our server was friendly and attentive. This is absolutely a place I’d come back to again. Can’t wait to try different things on the menu.

We had the absolute BEST Valentine’s Day experience thanks to our server, Dane. From the moment my best friend and I sat down, he made us feel genuinely special, welcomed, and taken care of. His energy was warm, attentive, and professional — the perfect balance that elevated our entire night.
Dane went above and beyond to accommodate us, making thoughtful recommendations and ensuring every detail was just right. You can tell he truly cares about the guest experience, and honestly, he’s the kind of server that makes you want to stay longer, order more, and come back again — which we absolutely will!

What a spontaneous time this was! I have been wanting to come here for a while now and sure did! I do not know where to start. When you come inside you first see the bar! Great set up! Bartenders were super friendly and very welcoming! You can start at the bar with a sparrow burger (on the golden hour menu), $2 oysters, drinks at a good price which or anything your heart desires. The spicy watermelon margarita, paper plane, lavender blanco, and velvet branch were the drinks to order that day! But, there are many drinks to choose from that anything you get will be so good! Next, the popovers was suggested for the table and it was delicious! Wow! Then, the burrata dish was outstanding! Lastly, the Chicken Parmesan and a Arugula Salad with grilled chicken added on to the dish. I will be completely honest the Chicken Parmesan paired well with the Arugula Salad but I was not to happy with the grilled chicken. Overall, the manager, servers, bartenders and the ambiance of the restaurant was unforgettable. Thank you all for a good time! Will be back soon!

Sparrow offers thoughtful and creative dishes in a chill chic environment with timely unobtrusive service. Even for affluent Garden City, some of the appetizer prices can give you pause. An amazing sounding crudo trio app featuring oyster with two other delicate white fishes was priced at 46. I passed. The halibut I had for dinner was clearly fresh and served on a bed of French lentils and subtly seasoned with herbs. It was delicious just a hair understated and cooked perfectly. The kale salad was the best I’ve ever had, with nutty crunch and creamy cheese and herbaceous olive oil. The popovers were addictive with sweet whipped butter. The Basque burnt cheesecake with sweet potato tasted fresh with a slight burn on the top crust contributing to a caramel glaze and an overall mouth feel akin to flan. Drinks were mixology level, I had a paper plane which had a bright whiskey sour note along with amarone botanicals. Garden City has many good restaurants, but Sparrow is elevated in ways that are hard to find in Nassau County. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had an early NYE dinner 5pm seating. It was our first time there. From the moment we walked in we were treated like special guests. Our waiter was friendly, professional and very attentive. The decor was SO impressive. Everything was perfect. We definitely know we will be back as this is now one of our favorite spots. Food was delicious – amazing and presented beautifully. Something else I thought was so sweet. I think one of the Chef’s family came for an early seating on NYE as well because he came out to spend a little time with seemingly his young daughter. That made me feel like this place is special because they care about their employees. My husband and I usually go to Prime in Huntington for special occasions and that place is great too but I am so happy we found somewhere we love close to home. Almost forgot – we were given two complimentary glasses of bubbly considering the holiday – what a special touch

On August 17th, 2025, my mom and I hosted my Pearls & Prosecco Bridal Shower at Sparrow Kitchen & Cocktails in Garden City. It was truly the most magical day and everything a bride could hope for.
The venue itself is stunning and hardly needed any extra décor thanks to the beautiful details and ambiance the restaurant already provides. One of the best parts is that Sparrow isn’t open during the day, which makes it the perfect setting for private events. I had 61 women attend, and the space can comfortably seat up to 70.
The event was three hours long: an hour of mingling, an hour and a half of dining, and 30 minutes of games and goodbyes. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was seamless. The food was absolutely delicious—special thanks to chef and owner Mike Wydro for not only crafting such an incredible menu but also for his kindness. Thank you as well to Rey for his warm hospitality, keeping everything on schedule, and making the day feel effortless. Lastly thank you to event planner Jenna Hall for helping to book and coordinate my event.
I’ve already recommended Sparrow to countless people—whether for hosting their own private event or simply enjoying a beautiful dinner out with great food, atmosphere, and music.
I wish I could relive this day over and over again.

Great atmosphere in this restaurant and good service as well. As for the food that was a bit more hit or miss. The veal meatballs were very good. But my burger, which I asked for medium rare was cooked well done. And the fish which was ordered by someone else was mangled by the server when he tried to fillet it table-side.

Very disappointing experience. I ordered three dishes and two drinks at the bar, totaling $95.50. My food was served on a broken plate, which is unacceptable. I politely asked for it to be replaced and remained respectful the entire time.
When it was time to pay, I asked to round the bill to $100. Instead of acting professionally, a male server made a rude comment saying I was “there for the vibe and to show off.” That was completely unnecessary and disrespectful. Quietly paying nearly $100 for a meal is not “showing off.”
What made this worse was the attitude from the male staff overall — dismissive, judgmental, and very different from how I’ve been treated on previous visits. A female server I’ve had before was always kind and professional, which makes this contrast even more noticeable.
Food was fine, but being served on a broken plate and then spoken to condescendingly is unacceptable. This place seriously needs to address staff behavior and professionalism. I would discourage people to be by the bar and won’t be returning.

We dined here last night, had a wonderful experience! Service, food and ambiance was perfect. Our waiter Edward was amazing, kind knowledgeable and personable with a welcoming and friendly energy! We took dessert home, the banana bread pudding- WOW!! A must have. Great place overall, chill vibes, highly recommend.. Looking forward to coming back soon when we are in the area !

Great atmosphere. The servers and the staff are extremely helpful and very kind. I really want this place to do well but the food is not good. They look nice and great for pictures, but they do not taste great. I am pretty sure they did not go through any R&D for the dishes because just a few tweaks would make them better. The sauce for the artichoke chips were stuck in the scalloped dish crevices, and the chips got soggy by the sauce. The chickpea pizzete was unbelievably dry. The gnocchi was extremely watery, like they did not drain the pasta water out. Cheesecake was too burnt. The banna pudding was not special. They had just opened for 2 weeks, maybe after 6 months they will improve after the growing pains. I am still optimistic, and hopefully, they will make some improvements.
