The atmosphere, the decor, the staff, and of course the food, are all worth the stop! We shared the #1 Chile cheese burger, fries, and drink. The burger was flavorful and the fries were crispy and good.

I had the Green Chili Cheeseburger combo with fries. It wasn’t very spicy, but still good. My dog had the dog patty, but he was too excited about being inside a restaurant to eat. We had fun. The decor is a lot of random restaurants memorabilia.
Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was given a bowl to get water for my dog.

only about a 30 minute detour driving between Las Cruces and Deming.. and well worth it as a lover of hatch green chilies.. the #1 with queso fries.. aw man, so good!
The chili cheeseburger was excellent, and the fries crispy and well seasoned and made even better with the green chili queso.
And my fortune couldn’t have been more true!
The only change for next time, get the queso on the side for dipping so the fries stay crispy to the last one

Green chili burger was ok, nothing special. Fries were under cooked. Queso was very delicious. Restaurant and restrooms were very clean and all the staff we interacted with were very polite. There was a live blues band playing which was really cool. Definitely a point of interest if you’re in the area.

Wow, talk about excellent food!!I wish I lived nearby so I could go here regularly. I had the smothered chicken breast w pineapple coleslaw. I couldn’t eat it all but definitely took the leftovers with me because I just can’t let this go to waste. All the food looked amazing.

We make the annual pilgrimage down to Hatch for two things …. Sparky’s and fresh roasted and peeled green chile…. Great food (can not recommend the green chili cheese burger enough) especially with a side of con queso …. You’ll be forced to buy the sausage sampler (in the window by the cashier displayed like your favorite donut) and while some may disagree (they’re wrong) you have to try the green chili lemonade. Pretty much an order and find a table place but the staff is always available and helpful …. Lots of swag and so much atmosphere!!

Definitely a overrated place, but it’s also definitely worth a try if you’ve never been here. Expect a super expensive hamburger definitely not worth paying 20 dollars for a double cheeseburger with fries and a drink..also I hated the fact that there ice machine doesn’t work so they just have a bin with ice out on the open, there bbq sauce is awful

I visited Sparky’s in Hatch during the Hatch Valley Chile Festival over Labor Day weekend. Even though the line was out the door, the weather was nice and it moved quickly.
Right from the start, the details stood out: fresh pickles you can grab, their house-made BBQ sauce with a unique flavor, and of course, the burger. That very first bite had a distinct char-grilled taste — simple, yet packed with solid, authentic flavors.
The atmosphere made it even better: live music with a great band, retro décor that gives the place a unique vibe, and an overall experience you won’t find at the usual burger chains.
In short, Sparky’s has its own identity, flavors worth coming back for, and a fun atmosphere that makes it easy to recommend. Definitely a spot to return to.
