Ive lived in Ashland 2 years now. Went there for a quick lunch to try something new. The place seemed very clean and is in a very cool quite location for sure.. I was served some amazing broccoli cheese soup, the burger was cooked to perfection & who doesn’t love fresh tots… But, not to my surprise the locals there wernt friendly to what they assumed was an outsider. As someone that makes eye contact and is aware of those in my surroundings. I received all looks with no friendly nods. Which is a shame but typical & (To each thier own). However, the bartender/owner Jessie made up for that. As she was awesome, very attentive, came off incredibly hospitable & genuine for sure.. Jim, on the other hand. not even a nod , just a blank non welcoming face the few times I glanced his way at the end of the bar. He clearly had no intention of making a potentially new returning customer of myself as he came off insecure and grouchy. As someone who travels the country for a living and bleeds Wisconsin Red thru and thru. Sadly with my short visit there its clear to see there are definitely more inviting and welcoming Bar and grills in Wisconsin than this one.. But, by NO means us it a terrible place. I would return as long as Jessie or (another bartender as hospitable as her) was the one working.. O.. and fabulous Ice Tea..

Food, Service and people were awesome!We had some great yummy food three cheese burger with sweet potato fries, brisket and the last of us had Jeff’s chicken sandwich all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals and had to bring home leftovers! We had to return on Friday for fresh fish fry where we each had indulged in White fish and trout. I haven’t even mentioned the yummy drinks If you are in the area this is a definite place to stop for great food and even better service!

This is a great sports bar in the Northwoods! The menu is small, but I like the options, and the specials are usually really good. We got their Top the Tater burger and buffalo chicken pizza. The burger was exactly what you’d expect from the description. It has ruffles potato chips, and Top the Tater on it. I personally would add pickles or something for a little additional acidity, but I really like the chips on it for the added crunch. A very unique bar burger.
The buffalo chicken pizza is really good. Buffalo chicken pizzas can sometimes be a bit too much to handle, but this one is balanced well and the sauce has plenty of flavor without being over powering, highly recommend getting a side of ranch with it.
Definitely try any of their fresh fish options when they have them, too!

Passing through and saw great reviews. It was ok. Not the worst we’ve had but for sure not the best. Fries were lukewarm, overcooked and greasy. We got whitefish and trout. Both piping hot but fried a little too crunchy for our taste. We live in Wisconsin and eat fish fry all the time. Upon closer look at the reviews, the raves were about the burgers and sandwiches so will try again at another time. Super friendly waitress but she was busy so a second drink was never offered.

Sparky’s is a hidden gem. Just south of Washburn. Food was excellent. I had the cheeseburger, added bacon with onion rings. Service was great. Family owned. Highly recommend

We went for the Friday night fish fry. I’m used to fresh fish, so I was a bit skeptical about their cod and perch. I was surprised. The cod was very good. The service was outstanding! I’m glad to have a place to go for fish that isn’t as far away as Bayfield, WI.

An oasis in the middle of nowhere. Loved the vibe and the food. I think the owner waited on us.. was great, showed us his Sasquatch pics.
Lucked out and was there on Friday Fish Fry. Served a plate of cheese, pickles, carrots, radish, celery, olives, sauce… Excellent.
Great stop. Would like to come back when there is snow. Probably see the cast of grumpy old men. Lol. Highly recommend. Enjoy.

Sparky’s Bar & Grill, small little place on your way to Washburn! Very nice little place, well kept, clean! I have a feeling this place can get rowdy during games which I love, especially for Minnesota games, but Minnesota stinks… so Go Pack Go, and Go Wisconsin
Service was great, Food was good, chicken tenders looked good, I personally wasn’t a huge fan of the breading, chicken was great though!
Overall, nice place to sit down and eat and relax!
