I’ve been to Spargos several times now, and it’s always a solid choice for a casual, family-friendly meal. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. The atmosphere is cozy, and it’s nice to have a reliable spot close to home. The breakfast is really good, though service can sometimes be a bit slow during busy times, so just plan accordingly.”

Spargos, more like Spar-No Thanks. My wife and I decided to give Spargos another chance after a bad experience back in November 2022. It’s close to home here in Manchester, and we like to support local restaurants. Unfortunately, it was a huge letdown—again.

We waited right under an hour for a basic meal during a non-busy period. I ordered the turkey club and my wife got a simple breakfast with a side of chipped beef gravy. Both were disappointing.

The turkey club came with a few thin, room temperature slices of turkey, some soggy bacon, and barely-there lettuce and tomato. It looked like it was thrown together with zero effort. The breakfast was worse—the chipped beef was all gravy, barely any meat, just thick, flavorless paste dumped on toast.

The unsweetened iced tea tasted old, like it had been brewed Friday and sat out all weekend. It had that stale, oxidized flavor that makes you wonder how often things are rotated.

To make things worse, the bathrooms were filthy. Easily some of the dirtiest restrooms we’ve seen in a restaurant around Carroll County.

The only positive was the price. It’s affordable—but you definitely get what you pay for, and that’s not a compliment.

After two bad experiences, we’re officially done. There are too many good spots near Westminster and Hampstead to waste time and money here. Spargos is off our list for good.

Would not recommend.

We, like so many others stopped going to Spargos when it was originally sold to new owners. That was because the food with the new owners was horrible. We decided last week to try again after seeing many complimentary reviews on a local facebook page. There are now new owners (from the first new owners), and the food recommended was outstanding! So much so that we went back last night and wanted to order the same thing! Hubby got the bourbon chicken recommended by the manager, and I got the chicken pot pie. Portion sizes are large. We ended the meal with tiramisu which was delicious! Joy was our server both times, and while she is new and learning, she was very attentive, and she has a very pleasant personality. Try Spargos again – you may be pleasantly surprised!

We had the pleasure of eating lunch here today. It was delicious! While I was dismayed they don’t have a gluten free menu, I was happy with my selection a Chicken and Broccoli Omlet super yummy, my daughter, devoured the Mountain Man Breakfast. . .no matter that she had it for lunch, for a snack later in the day and finally finished it for dinner. It was A TREMENDOUS amount of food. She couldn’t say enough good things. My son had cheese pizza, too bad they didn’t have a kid sized choice, but no matter he had it for lunch, again for dinner and my daughter will probably have it cold for breakfast tomorrow. Our waitress Paige was wonderful. She was friendly, attentive and a joy to have as our waitress. We are already planning to visit this restaurant again soon and it is more than 30 mins from our house. We can’t wait to have Paige serve our family again and introduce my husband to Paige as well.

#1 worst dining experience of my life! My husband and I ordered the cheese steak sub. It tasted so bad that after 3 bites I couldn’t eat anymore. My husband ate half of his sub and couldn’t eat anymore. It tasted spoiled and sour. We should have left before ordering because my husband used the restroom when we arrived. He said there was a large fungus growing in the urinal and no paper towels to dry his hands. The restroom was filthy! I will remember, in the future, to check a restaurant restroom because if the restroom is filthy, the kitchen most likely is, too. The only positive thing I can say about this experience is that the waitress was pleasant and, fortunately, we didn’t get food poisoning. The health department needs to make a visit! I should add that I told the waitress I would like her to remove the cost of my sub from the bill, so I didn’t have to pay for it. I gave a 1 star rating, but that is a serious exaggeration!

I ordered an uber eats breakfast platter. They gave me 1 egg, no corn beef hash (they were to supplement this with bacon), and no extra side of bacon that I already paid for. Then they almost forgot my coffee!!!!

We used to frequent this place when the former owner ran it but since its been taken over by other people it’s absolutely terrible! The new owners are rude, have no clue how to run a business! The menu has changed multiple times with no comfort food at all anymore! It’s dirty, smells and food is less than mediocre!
All the good servers that used to be there have since left which kept us coming. No more though, there are so many other options I’d rather drive further to!

I used to go to Spargos for many years under the original ownership. Would go for breakfast almost every weekend & dinner with my spouse on many occasions. The food and customer service was always great. Recently under the new owners the food was not close to the same quality as previously and the inside was poor. Recently myself and other customers were commenting on their Facebook about our dislike of them using fake AI videos of food & dining areas that were not their actual food or dining areas. We have since been blocked from their Facebook. This just shows the new owner cannot even take constructive criticism from their customers which is a very bad sign in restaurant ownership. I will never patron this restaurant again.
