This is a nice little hometown diner. Nothing fancy about it. You can get breakfast all day. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, green beans and Texas toast, and it was pretty standard for this kind of place and was just okay. Prices were very reasonable. The servers were attentive. And our food came out pretty quickly and hot. My dining companion got the all meat omelette and said it was pretty good.

Ate here after paying our taxes. Steelville is blessed to have had the Spare Rib Inn as part of their community for nearly a century. The atmosphere reminded me of Chub and Jo’s in Rolla, MO fifty years ago. The ACYE Fish special for $9.99 was really too much food on the initial plate for me to have their usual 4 piece second serving. The rib dinner also looked huge. Will definitely return to try other menu options.

It was my first time in the area and I gave it a shot….even the locals I was working with had not been here. This place has been here for FOREVER and I can tell you why: it’s AMAZING, the food,the service and value. All exceptional.
