Chicken fingers were good, sauces were good.
Bar server was nice, but had to get her attention several times for things as basic as drink refills.
Kitchen staff and whomever was in charge on Monday 2/16/26 at 1PM needs better training on knowing how to manage large crowds and at least check in on your staff that’s obviously drowning/ overwhelmed and provide updates on kitchen backups to paying customers. I appreciate the discount applied to our order fo the wait, but a bit more communication would have been better. Left the restaurant after waiting 2+ hours for food I never received and went somewhere else. Will probably never go back to Spanky’s
The chili was lukewarm and mostly tomato based (only picture I took at end of meal). The fingers looked crispy but were average. The pickle was served on top so the breading on the chicken became pickle soaked. The potato slices were slightly breaded, no seasoning, and just bland and tasted like 1/4” cooked slices of potato. Not crispy or anything special. Fries were lightly breaded but not crispy, so average again. French’s mustard, but not Heinz ketchup. Blue Plate mayo. The sweet tea was very sugary.
We were literally first in the restaurant at opening, with a line of people waiting to get inside, including repeats who spoke positively about the fingers. People walking past also commented how good the fingers were. The table we were set at had a cherry stem, was sticky and you could see crumbs on it. Ours had obviously not been cleaned. At the end of the day, it was a typical bar food/atmosphere experience. The food and service was average, staff were super friendly, but don’t expect high quality food. It was a bit pricey and cost more than our dinner!
I got the sampler platter, which came with fingers, fried pickles, taters, and mozz sticks. The chicken fingers and sauces were fantastic, and the ranch tasted housemade. The pickles were tasty and hand breaded, but the mozzarella sticks seemed frozen (like Arby’s), and the taters needed some seasoning as they were kind of bland. My husband got fries with his finger basket, and he loved them – they’re battered and seasoned fries. We would definitely come back, but we’d stick to just the chicken fingers and fries next time.
