I was born and raised in Savannah GA. My mom and dad never took me to this restaurant and we used to go to river street a lot. I was talking to my best friend and he mentioned this restaurant last week. My brother said that he remembered the tshirts people would wear in highschool. I have not lived in Savannah GA since 1996. Even though I visit from time to time with family. This restaurant is world famous for the chicken tenders or chicken fingers and spuds so that is what I got to eat. My mom and sister visited Savannah GA on Friday and came back on Saturday. I cash app my sister and I asked her to get me a order of the 4 chicken tenders with spuds and the house sauce which is horseradish and a extra honey mustard sauce for me. This is voted the best chicken in or chicken fingers! This is the first chicken tenders restaurant in the world starting in 1976. Read the back story. The food is delicious the taste and the flavor. Pull up and check them out. I got my food on 12-14-2025.My mom let me taste some of her crab stew and it’s delicious!

Spanky’s used to be one of my go to spots, which makes this review harder to write. I stopped in for a late lunch and the restaurant was not crowded at all, so I expected a quick and smooth experience. Unfortunately, it took entirely too long for our food to come out.
When it finally arrived, it was not even warm. That was the most disappointing part. If a meal is cooked to order, you naturally expect it to come out hot and fresh. Instead, it felt like it had been sitting longer than it should have.
I used to really enjoy Spanky’s, but my last few visits have fallen well below what I remember and what I would expect. I hope they can turn things around, because it used to be a place I genuinely looked forward to visiting.

Great food. Many options for all in your group. The nachos were good but could have gone without the liquid cheese under the shredded cheese. The steak sandwich was great!

We had a party of three. The server was very forgetful my husband was the only person that got a refill on his drink. The food was warm not hot like it should be. The ladies room needed attention! The fried mushrooms were delicious.

The general energy of this joint definitely screams “local”. And in the best way possible. It certainly is a place where the usual crowd comes in for their Tuesday work outing or your Uncle Joe hangs out with his buddies on Thursday night.
The menu has a little something for everybody and no choice is a bad one. From the Santa Fe Salad to the pepperoni pizza, to the classic chicken fingers basket- it’s all pretty decent. I will say this place is on the heavier side. Not much ISN’T fried. But sometimes that’s just what you need.
We will definitely come back for lunch soon.
Service staff was kind and attentive.

Relaxing, comfortable dining experience. The Spanky’s original burger came with fresh leaf of lettuce, fresh sliced of tomato, and my choice of fries. Delish! There are two dining rooms with their own fireplaces, a horseshoe shaped bar with seating, and a private room in the back. The fried mushrooms here are legendary. Will definitely return.

Went to this location on a Monday right at lunch time. We got our table extremely fast. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. We knew what we wanted so we ordered right away and food came to our table really fast. The tenders and spuds were bussin bussin. I wish I could remember the waitresses name because she was very nice. I would go back to this location for sure. Try the crab dip or the hot bread and cheese!

My husband wanted to try this restaurant for a while. One 1/15/23, we dined at Spanky’s in Pooler. This place has nostalgic ambience and has a family feel. It seems to be a popular place with steady foot traffic.
My family and I ordered fried shrimp baskets, a grouper basket, drinks, two appetizers (Buffalo dip & Spinach-artichoke dip) and a sweet treat (salted caramel cheesecake). The food was delicious!
Families and couples were smiling, laughing, and enjoying their dining experience. It took me back to a simpler time when dining out as a family was special and everyone was treated as such. It was a refreshing customer experience.
I highly recommend this restaurant!

We waited over 50minutes for burgers and a Philly. Which came to the table cold and it wasn’t even busy. I asked for a glass of wine that never came to the table without asking for it again. My sister was visiting from out of town I really hated she had a bad experience after I had said service and food was good.
