Let me get one thing straight here, we’re judging food here not people; I’ve went thru several reviews here before visiting this restaurant, my wife refused to go there still I went and try myself.
I’m from Spain myself so I know very well about Mediterranean cuisine such as Italian so meanwhile visiting Boston for 3 days I’ve decided to give this restaurant a try.
No doubt the history behind this place is huge you can tell not only talking with the old woman who seemed to run the restaurant but with the server or simply watching at the walls where some famous people pictured their self there
The front was under construction luckily it was open, the welcome was amazing, there were 2 occupied tables during a Christmas holidays Saturday night I’m pretty sure the reviews are damaging this place and the decision of their potential clients, prices are below average for what you get in the area, just to put you in a situation many restaurants at this area had waiting lists to get a table, the menu was pretty decent with plenty of Italian appetizers, mains and sides.
The server which looked a member of the family ensured I haven’t missed anything, the food came out in literally less than 10 min, you can check my order in the pictures
But that’s all the good about the is restaurant, I know what I’m talking about and I can’t say the food there was fresh, also I can’t say it’s healthy, bread, pasta everything I’ve ordered came with extra oil and soft , very soft, sight of reheated food (this is an opinion) very greasy, that’s unacceptable, the dinning room was dirty and heavily aged and I could smell the burned oil from the kitchen
Reviews are appreciating this restaurant having a NONNA which became a famous term after Netflix movie but honestly she ain’t cooking but seated at a corner giving bills and making sure everyone is comfortably eating.
Would I come back? Definitely no
Was the food good? Definitely no
Wasn’t treated as I was eating at my grandmas? Yes and I appreciate that
Is the price good? Yes, $20-$30 bellow average per person
When should this restaurant be your first choice? If you want fast food conditions (cheap and fast) for a bigger and healthier (not much) portions for very much the same price you pay at McDonalds, dominos or Taco Bell
Tipped $5 and walked out
I wish I could go back to Boston and see this place tuned into a great restaurant which I have no doubt it was.

Authentic Italian cuisine at a price that can’t be beat. We got a gnocchi from the lunch menu and a small mushroom pizza (it was Huge!) and everything was delicious. The server was very nice to us and everything was obviously freshly made. Definitely recommend and will come again.

This diner’s environment is not for everyone, but for me it was an awesome experience. The food was very good and fairly worth the price. The service was quick and intentional. And the family owned aspect of the diner was very fun! Overall a great place, and I would certainly recommend checking it out if you can!

If you want a true Boston experience come here! Make sure you order your pizza extra crispy and LARGE for great flavor. The sausage was delicious. The older woman whose family owns the restaurant (since the 1800’s) is so sweet. She has 3 pictures of Donald Trump on her bulletin board. Large portions, hefty pours of wine, plenty of seating.

Was here for dinner last night. Walked in and was immediately greeted by the family that owns the restaurant. The entire experience felt like I was at a family dinner. Anyone with an Italian family knows the feeling. The food was great. They offered to cook anything we wanted (obviously within reason). I honestly felt as if my grandparents and parents were making sure we were taken care of and happy. Their family had small children around the restaurant which made it feel even more like a family dinner. 100% would recommend if your looking for that style restaurant and feel. 4 person dinner and drinks in the North End for less than $150 was also another plus.

Absolutely delicious food and such a delightful staff, was very welcoming and was seated right away. Dont be fooled by people leaving negative reviews, this is delicious and the atmosphere is amazing. on a street where you are stuck arm to arm in a restaurant paying for overpriced food and drinks this place stands out as a shining star. gnocchi bolognese was delicious and so was the tortellini alfredo. I will be coming back here for another meal as soon as possible!

I needed a place to rest my feet and charge my phone and after getting turned away from a few places (asking them if there was an outlet I could use), I was welcomed in at Spagnuolo’s. I ordered a salad and a cannoli, which were both delicious and fresh. The best part was the service. I could feel the love this family had for this place. It was sweet seeing the staff interact with each other and with customers, specifically with a young father and his two little boys. Would definitely recommend this place!

We went in completely by chance. We wanted cheese, grilled chicken and veggie pizza. It was delicious. We especially liked the pizza bread. It was definitely like our mother’s handmade bread. Their pizzas are also unique and delicious. The atmosphere is not bad, it is a real family restaurant.

A very laidback establishment run by a family. The food was not great. We paid $20-22 for pasta that was not worth that. The chicken in the dish was well seasoned, but the Alfredo sauce had a very odd flavor to it. We also had the cheese ravioli and the filling had a consistency of paste.

My experience was alright. The atmosphere felt like a hole in the wall but a nice cozy hole in the wall. The food was good. We only got a pepperoni pizza, though. All of the bad reviews didn’t get a pizza, and all the good reviews only got a pizza, so only get the pizza if you want something good. The parmesan was served in an open bowl with a spoon in it, and it did not appear they gave new parmesan for each customer, so some heath concern there otherwise the place was alright.
