Soya & Pomodoro is a two Italians’ dream that became true; they arrived in U.S.A. years ago, more precisely to Miami in the search of their true passion calling for the culinary industry. Both men were joined by the same purpose – not only to administrate a restaurant on their own, but to revive the comfort and homey atmosphere, serving a table with delicious recipes to satisfy every taste, in a scenery where nobody is allowed to be hurried. Never giving up, Rosario started as waiter then, later became General Manger of the Bianca restaurant at Delano Hotel, one of the most famous in town. Cristian grew up in the kitchen and carried forward the Mediterranean tradition in a land miles away from the smells and flavors which he never forgot.
Creative Italian fare served in bohemian digs converted from an old bank, plus live jazz shows.

The restaurant is inside a 100 arcade building and looks mostly untouched inside with original mosaics on floor, textured ceilings and walls. Chef owner Cristian added some eclectic art to the walls to finish it off.
We split 5 items all were great but the homemade ravioli with a walnut cream sauce, and homemade gelato topped with fresh espresso really stood out. We came for the Friday night jazz and really enjoyed the music.
Restaurant is a few blocks off the waterfront but worth the extra walk or Uber.
Our new favorite restaurant in DT Miami
experience when it comes to Italian food. Everything is freshly made and the melanzana: wow! I was also surprised by the vongole. You could taste the freshness of the pasta and it was easily digestible. Not too heavy nor boring to eat.
And dessert was incredible! We took the hazelnut and pistachio gelato and the almond flour chocolate cake. Again, so pure and fresh.
Grazie mille for the wonderful experience.
We were in a hurry so we both ordered the same thing. What stood out for us and one that we had never tasted was the Fazzoleti Di Pere e Formaggio. It was a pasta dish filled with taleggio cheese and fresh pears in a creamy Ricotta and shrimp sauce. It was good and different. But the dish that we ooohed and awwwed about was the Tiramisu!! That was the hit of the day! Creamy, melted in your mouth and delicious!
The service was attentive and friendly! Our water glasses was always filled.
The only disappointment was that they keep the front door open at all times, which lets the hot Miami heat enter the restaurant. They do not have air conditioning! So we felt hot and sweaty while eating. It was not pleasant and even though everything else was satisfactory, we probably wouldn’t come back during the summer months.
