Such a warm and inviting atmosphere, it feels like small town Greece. Pair that with food that is so delicious – we went back the next night. Service was excellent, attentive and very kind. Plates were well-portioned, nicely presented, and very affordable for the quality of the food. A nice variety of price points, as well, which is always appreciated.Thank you all for the beautiful evenings – especially to the manager and our server. You are both so lovely – we wish we lived closer. Until next time, efcharisto!

Cute atmosphere, but that’s about it. Moussaka was cold. Clearly just heated up (poorly even so). The flavour was extraordinarily bland.

Their sides & apps seem too big. I wanted to get something in addition, but I couldn’t justify $11 for a massive plate of fries. They need a side menu that is not just the same volume as mains!

Pretty empty on a Sunday night

Honestly, one of the best Moussakas I have had outside of Greece. I have tried a few in New York City. This one was definitely one of the most generous portions, on top of being a tasty one! The staff was very friendly and the location is beautiful. The white and blue decor of the walls and furnitures reminded me of a casual lunch in Mykonos. It is small and cozy, although it also has room in the back and can definitely accommodate larger groups. The value and price were fair for the food quality I ate. I would definitely come back here!

I left 5 star because I like their food and I order from this place from time to time.

The only problem is the price, I literally just ordered 5 small boxes I paid $200. Their hummus, the smallest one I’ve ever seen in my entire life, is almost $9. I hope it is made of gold.

The other Greek restaurants I ordered from would give it to me much much cheaper. I truly believe it’s possible to maybe give a bit more food rather than making it so small. I can’t leave lower rating because like I said food was good, but it’s a bit overpriced for that amount really. Just saying because from other Greek places I take trays of food for $200 not little „Whole Foods boxes”. Half of almost all the boxes was pita. But in a reality it shouldn’t be like that. Guys if you can’t keep up just mark the place accordingly „the most expensive Greek restaurant”. Because it’s funny how some dishes say „for two” but in a reality it’s an appetizer.

Again, food was good. Cooked good. Smells good. Looks good. But we need more not less.

Amazing environment, the staff are so nice and it’s so pretty inside

The food is not bad, nothing amazing. Some dishes need some sort of flavor elevation. But for a Greek restaurant I loved it

Please no blue lights, those hurt our eyes

Today, one of our school psychologists made a reservation at Souvlaki GR. The reason for this was because the food was good and the atmosphere was quiet and mellow. She made reservations for six. Two of us, myself and another coworker, arrived first; we ordered drinks and the drinks were excellent – a $16 Lychee Martini was pricey! Then we ordered a second round, but it was watered down and to much juice was added, so for $16, I had to point that out and have them redo it! We recived complimentary shots from the owner but After eating and ordering our second round, we were told we had 15 minutes to leave because they had reservations for a big reservations. I was okay with it, but we also had reservations and needed to finish our drinks at our own pace. The bill came out to almost $300, and we were told we had to go. As we took our time and then left, the manager was rude and said there are other bars we can go to, and I said yes, at least we won’t get kicked out after spending almost $300. This place sucks don’t go there! They shouldn’t treat us like that especially if they are supportive from our community! We went to
Verlaine and pay $8 for our lychee Martini which were way better and on point for the price!

It’s completely insane. Everything is perfect, five stars. When you enter, you feel like you’ve gone to Greece. The vibe is so clear. The employees are very helpful. I can’t find anything to say about the atmosphere. The food was also very good, very magnificent. It’s definitely a shop you should visit if you’re in New York. If you miss the sea, the blue, the sincerity, I would say don’t leave without visiting. I felt like I had dinner with my friend (SIMAY❤️‍ ) on a very beautiful street. I felt like I had dinner in Greece on a cobblestone street. Thank you very much for making this experience happen.
Thanx

Souvlaki on Stanton Street offers a delightful taste of Greece, with some standout dishes that really shine. The dips are absolutely delicious, especially the tzatziki and the spicy feta, both of which pack incredible flavor and are perfect starters. The grilled octopus is another highlight—though flavorful and well-seasoned, it could benefit from being a bit more tender to elevate the experience. Pita is served with almost everything, making it a great accompaniment to all the dishes. The service, while friendly, could use a little polish in terms of efficiency and attentiveness. Overall, a solid choice for those craving authentic Greek flavors!
