Southwest Deli & Cafe is in the southwest part of Pueblo, but it is not a Mexican restaurant! This is a small “MOM & POP” cafe owned and operated by Lloyd and Carol Mast who are working hard to make this a successful business. This is their first attempt to serve the public by following their dreams of a family owned business that is a service to the community as well as promoting strong family values. Here at our store we place a premium on comfort and cleanliness. Customer satisfaction is our number one priority.

I love this restaurant. Every time we go in we are treated so very good. Yesterday was a hard day for our family as our oldest son had passed away 1/19 of 2020. My family wanted to bring us lunch. I special ordered a meat and cheese tray on short notice. Not only was it wonderful, it was super beautiful and yummy. You can’t beat the price anywhere either. They didn’t know what the reason was for the short notice order. Thank you southwest deli for the wonderful lunch on such a horrible day for me.

Wow! We were driving through town and looking for a place to eat, and my husband found this deli just off the main drag. We were so surprised when we walked in! Homemade bread, local cheeses, all kinds of great stuff in the fridge and pantry aisles!
We each ordered sandwiches and dined in. I ended up ordering a Ruben sandwich without the roast beef because I don’t eat meat. They also had a salad which I could’ve ordered without the meat as an option. I could have “built my own” sandwich too. This is a counter service establishment with a small seating area with 10 or so tables-but it’s also a specialty market with select gift items.
Everybody that worked there was very friendly. It was a good mix of healthy food and essentials. We also bought a loaf of homemade sourdough bread, kombucha, local green chili goat cheese and red and purple popping corn. If you have kids, I’m sure they would love perusing all of the candy as well! They had baked sweets and things like banana bread too.
This is the perfect stop if you’re on vacation and you need to eat and pick up supplies for the road, as there’s a Starbucks next-door and a Walmart across the street!

The food and service are usually very good, and the Deluxe Salad with mixed greens and all the toppings is normally worth the price. However, on October 10, 2025, in the late afternoon, it took about five minutes before anyone took my order I was the only one in waiting to order—not a major issue. I ordered the Deluxe Salad, but when it was ready, it was made entirely with iceberg lettuce instead of mixed greens. When I asked about it, the employee said, “Oh, we’re out.” It would have been appreciated if that had been mentioned when I placed the order, especially since there’s a big difference between mixed greens and iceberg lettuce—but no difference in the price I was charged.

I had a great experience here. The girls who work here are so sweet! They have a nice selection of sandwiches. Soup is only on Thursdays so I didnt get to try that.
They don’t have a vegetarian option on the menu but they were happy to make me a veggie sandwich with cheese. They will also toast it for you if you like.

I ordered gift baskets for family and friends for Christmas. They are amazing – beautiful. The girls are so friendly and kind. I intend to order baskets in the future for gifts. I highly recommend Southwest Deli for food and gifts.

I go to the deli at least once a week. The people are just wonderful, the food amazing and the prices are great. They have lots of menu items and also gluten free and regular baked goods. Everything I have had there has been exceptional.

The food is amazing! We ordered several platters of their meat and cheese, antipasto, and fruit for a function we were having. They were truly beautiful, exceptionally delicious and reasonably priced for the volume of food we received. The meats and cheeses were so fresh and tasty. Nothing like supermarket deli foods. You have to taste them to experience how much better they are. The sandwiches they have there are great too. Haven’t had a chance to try everything but i look forward to sampling everything they have. I recommend them highly, especially if you are having a party. No way could I have made such wonderful, delicious platters! Thank you Southwest Deli!
