While camping nearby, we found this hidden gem! So glad we did. The food and hospitality were incredible. Homemade and good quality ingredients are hard to find these days. John is so easy to talk to and he is very knowledgeable about nutrition and supplements. Thank you John for such an enjoyable meal and conversation. It was a pleasure!!!

Decided to take a chance after reading the reviews. I have to say I’m glad we did. The food was great and the conversations even better. It’s a bit off the path – but well worth the memories made.

My husband and I were camping on the north side of Cedar Bluff Reservoir and decided to have breakfast out. It was quite the adventure finding the diner but with a couple of calls to John and his directions we made it. It was almost 11 when we arrived, I had a breakfast to die for (John told me how he made is hash browns) and my husband had the blue cheese burger and said it was the best he’d ever had.
We had fun visiting with the other customers (regulars) that were there and also speaking with John and learning the history of the diner.
I encourage everyone to take the time and find this hidden gem in the Smokey River Valley.

We happened to find this gem on our way to Colorado 11/2 weeks ago. We had the best breakfast and visit ever. We also bought the most delicious butter cake with almond extract.
On our way back home we made sure to revisit John and his fabulous breakfast offering. Wow!!!
Wish we lived closer but a drive from Pennsylvania is a bit much.
We hope to visit the Southside again next year!!

To dine for…. Homemade with quality, local ingredients we had the most amazing Spanish Omelette, Biscuits and Gravy, and Cedar Stack – and yes we had dessert for breakfast and enjoyed a hearty slice of mom’s carrot cake.
You will get greeted by the friendly dogs, it’s a whole experience
It was a wonderful atmosphere, went on a Sunday morning with my two friends and it gave us the experience to slow down and enjoy life. It was a wonderful addition to our beautiful day.
Will be back for breakfast again and back to try the lunch menu!

Totally unexpected, great food. Pork tender sandwich fantastic, so was the bratwurst. Homemade horseradish, and an assortment of hot sauces. The owner, chef, and chief bottle washer was fun and personable. Wish we could have had more meals there to explore more of the specialties. Highly recommend, well worth going out of your way for.

If my wife and I could give 10 stars, we would. Best burger and fries we’ve ever had. We live 4 hours away, but we’re doing a little road tripping on our honeymoon, and driving the back roads led us here. The owner (JT, I believe) is an incredible soul. Go. You will not regret it. ♡

This place was amazing. One guy running the place, he did amazing! Had a great conversation after we finished eating. The food was outstanding. He said it’d be a little bit of a long wait but it wasn’t long at all. Everything came out looking good. Overall an amazing experience, definitely recommend going here!

Best dining experience between Mexico and Canada. You won’t find better service from sea to shining sea. All home made. Delicious. And fast. Will definitely eat here again.

The best breakfast you can get and John is the best! Gotta go at least once. We are from Nebraska and heard about the Southside diner online. So glad we went.
