My wife and I wanted to try a new spot in the area and came across this chicken place — and to our surprise, it’s halal! I don’t eat chicken, so I was immediately excited when I saw they had catfish on the menu.
Let me tell y’all… the food is DELICIOUS! I ordered the 3-piece catfish with a side of mac & cheese. My wife got the 3-piece dark meat chicken with two sides — mac & cheese and creamy spinach — plus two half-and-half tea/lemonades and a strawberry cheesecake.
The food came out HOT straight from the paper. I also loved that they use paper bags to keep the food warm (extra points for that).
According to my wife, the chicken was so tender it fell right off the bone, and the seasoning wasn’t just in the skin — it went all the way through the meat. My catfish was fresh, juicy, and came in huge portions, which made me very happy.
Now… the mac & cheese! It deserves its own shoutout. This is the true definition of homemade baked mac & cheese — creamy, flavorful, and perfectly cheesy. I have a sensitive stomach with dairy, but my stomach was literally jumping for joy eating this. No issues at all!
The half-and-half drinks were filled to the very top and super tasty, and I loved that the bottles were tall — plenty to drink. Honestly, the food was so juicy and flavorful that you won’t even need a sip until you’re done eating. The cheesecake was moist, rich, and absolutely delicious.
One more thing, the food was not overly greasy at all, which is a big deal for us. No one wants greasy food, and they nailed it.
This will officially be our new go-to fish & chicken spot. If you want fresh, flavorful, non-greasy halal food, make it your business to come here. You will not regret it!

Their food is very good, and seasoned just right! It’s cooked fresh to order, so if you don’t want to wait, either call your order in, order online, or download the app to order ahead. After creating an account you’ll also earn points for every dollar spent through the app that goes towards free food/drinks. The staff at the Fredericksburg location are also very friendly. Me and my family LOVE this restaurant so much we HAD to leave a review, we usually order out but we came in today so I decided to do this. The chicken and waffles is the only things I’ve had here after months of eating here, the chicken is very juicy and crispy, and that combined with waffles and syrup make the perfect meal. Very underrated restaurant for how good it is. The one thing they can improve on is giving a more southern style. Also, most things here are home made.

#1 I was under the impression it was black owned & operated. It’s not!
I’m not sure why restaurants “market” to be southern style, when in fact they’re not.
Is it the menu items that’s supposed to make it southern not the recipes?
#2 I live in NC, not VA, so I wasn’t familiar with the area. If I had known the location was more of a quick to-go vibe, I would’ve suggested a different place.
It was obvious we were dining in, but our food was still brought to the window in a bag.
Yes, we still dined in after realizing this wasn’t the vibe we thought it would be because that was the initial plan.
#3 The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t the best. Out of all the food we each ordered, my mom did say the mac & cheese was good to her. (I didn’t try it)
#4 They serve homemade drinks in branded plastic bottles, but the bottles aren’t sealed. (The pic is after I unscrewed the top)
#5 They don’t have a ranch! I repeat, they don’t have ranch, only two signature sauces, hot sauce, and ketchup.

Let’s set the scene…I ordered online from home for pickup. It said the order would be ready in 20 minutes. I show up to pickup my order and they are still working on it. At a certain point, people that ordered in the restaurant after I came to pickup were getting their food. That means they ordered 30-40 minutes after I placed my order. Ridiculous! I waited almost 80 minutes to get my food when they said it would be 20 minutes. Now…was it good? Yes, it hit the spot. My kids and pregnant wife said it was delicious! Felt bad for the cashier catching all the flak. They definitely have to step up the service game but the food was on point. In the end, service will always trump the food because I refuse to give my money to folks that don’t care about the entire product within the food service industry. Once the service is equal to the food, oo-wee!! Spicy chicken sandwich was fire. Way better than whatever that other janky spot Hangry Joe’s has to offer. Also ordered the wings, waffles, tenders, fries and the Mac. The Mac is legit and is the best Mac I’ve had from a restaurant and it ain’t that nasty Popeyes, KFC, or Chick-fil-A mac. Got that sweetness in it like you get at home. This that soulfood Mac and cheese! My only regret is I wish I had some of the banana pudding and some half and half lemonade because everything else was superb! Well…if the service is right, there’s always next time.
