The southern spoon just opened up about a month or so ago in Middleville and they have the best breakfast of anywhere in this area. This is my second time going because it was so good the first time and I can’t wait till the next time. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is so great and the people are so friendly. The owners, Kyle and Kenna are almost always on site helping cook, dry and roll up silverware, visiting tables to talk to the customers and find out how their meal is. I would expect nothing less considering they own the sandbar next-door, which is also very delicious and well run. It is obvious they truly care about the restaurants and the happiness of the people that visit them. It is also important to know that their meat comes from Tom’s meat market up the street and they have the best meat around. One of our waitresses Amber was so friendly and helpful. The first time we went, I tried the shrimp and grits, which is hard to find anywhere in this area and especially hard to find as good as these shrimp and grits are. The kids had pancakes and bacon and the pancakes were huge and the bacon was so thick and delicious. my mother ordered the eggs Benedict because that’s her favorite. Go to breakfast food and she enjoyed it and said it was some of the best eggs Benedict she has ever had. We also ordered a half order of the biscuits and gravy because we both love biscuits and gravy and we try biscuits and gravy every place we go. My stepfather used to make the best biscuits and gravy and we are always searching for something even close to what he used to make, and this is probably the closest we’ve come. Homemade gravy with lots of sausage and just the right amount of spices make this the best. The next time we visited, I really wanted some more of those shrimp and grits, but I broke down and tried something different and got the low country which included two eggs, potatoes, toast, and skewers with sausage and shrimp on them and it was so delicious. We look forward to going back very soon and hopefully trying some other things on the menu.

Excellent food, service and staff! We were just passing through and stopped in for a late breakfast. Really really delicious! Eggs Benedict and biscuits and gravy. Not your “run of the mill” low quality ingredients at too many places now a day. We loved it! Really clean too.

Today was my first time trying Southern Spoon and it was such a great experience. All of the staff were so kind and welcoming. Our server was Leslie, and she was great and very helpful! Will definitely be back very soon.

•Incredible food, everything was cooked well with an amazing depth of flavor. Our kids ordered plain waffles, then the owner brought them Nutella and whipped cream as a treat and they loved it! We tried a little bit of a lot; eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, and waffles.
•The service was great! They are busy (great sign), so patience is key, but we had zero issues with being seated, served and check in on.
•Orange juice; we did not know that there were no free refills on the juice, so we were surprised when we saw our bill when it wasn’t mentioned at the time we requested a refill. Just something to be aware of!
•10/10, we are adding this to our list of places we love!

Relaxed athmosphere. Sat by the fireplace nice and toasty! Their smoked Salmon was awesome made in house. Staff was real friendly. Shout out to our server Amy for being on top of everything.

Our breakfast today was so good! I had the “Between the buns” competition breakfast sandwich. The cheddar biscuit it was on and the bacon jam really took it over the top! My husband said his country fried steak was delicious but the breakfast potatoes were some of the best he’s had! Amy was awesome and kept my coffee cup filled! So glad to have Southern Spoon here in our community!

The food was delicious. The first time I’ve heard my other half compliment any restaurant food. I thought it was pricey, at first, but the food ended up being well worth the price.
Leslie was our waitress, she was friendly, kept my coffee cup topped off, and checked on us quite often. We’ll be back.

Southern Spoon blew me away. Service top tier. Food was nothing short of amazing. I’ve never finished a breakfast at any restaurant but I found myself more or less licking the plate clean. You can really taste the love in the food. The bread and biscuits!! I’ve never had better. I live over two hours away and think I’ll be driving back just to eat there again. What a wonderful little diner.

I ordered the Crawfish eggs benedict and it was spectacular! The wife and I also ordered Americanos and they were spot on! Thank you so much for an awesome new addition!

We came early on a weekday of opening week. They have the restaurant looking great. Very welcoming feeling. Our server was wonderful. The food was delicious. I got the Southern Delight Waffle, my husband got the Slap Yo Mama skillet, our son got nutella pancakes. My only complaint is that it’s a little pricy so we won’t be able to come very offen. We are glad to have a great breakfast so close to home!
