⭐ 1 STAR — HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
I made the mistake of ordering from Southern Sides via Uber Eats, and I regret every dollar spent.
First, the chicken tenders were clearly not fresh. They came in different colors, textures, and temperatures — one was unexpectedly spicy, which I never ordered, and the other two were so rubbery they were barely edible. I didn’t order a taste test experiment, I ordered a meal. On top of that, my banana pudding was missing, which just added insult to injury.
When I called the restaurant, the manager immediately got defensive, saying he cooked the food himself and blamed the problem on me ordering through a third-party app. Excuse me? The app didn’t cook this food, YOU did. Whether I walked in or ordered online, the quality should be consistent, and customers should be respected, not dismissed.
Unfortunately, Uber Eats makes it nearly impossible to correct a mistaken review or even upload a photo through the app after you submit that an item was missing from your order, their system is glitchy and does nothing to hold restaurants accountable. All I got was a $5 credit for food I couldn’t eat and a dessert I never received.
If you value fresh food during evening hours, honest service, and customer care, do yourself a favor: Skip this place. I won’t be back.

My sister placed an order through Uber Eats and experienced several issues. First, the platform had technical difficulties when I attempted to upload photos. Additionally, one item from my order, the banana pudding was missing. I contacted the restaurant and spoke with someone who identified himself as the manager. Pretty much stated since I ordered from Uber Eats, I will need to contact them for a refund.

I ordered the 3-piece Chicken Tenders with green beans and honey mustard. Unfortunately, the chicken tenders were extremely dry and unappetizing. I was only able to take one bite before discarding the rest. The manager mentioned he cooked the food and it was fresh.

Based on this and previous experiences, I’ve noticed a decline in food quality when ordering within two hours of a restaurant’s closing time (80% of the time). This may be something to consider when placing late-day orders.

It’s so unfortunate that most of these reviews don’t capture my experience of this restaurant. As someone from the tri-state area visiting for a work trip my first meal when I come to Nashville is hot chicken. I placed my order via uber eats and the flavor in this sandwich was perfect, the bread was buttery and even the fries had some sweetness to them. I really enjoyed my meal!

Used to be pretty good but between going down hill and raising prices for food that doesn’t support it (burgers and chicken are nothing special bro) everyone wants to have a 5 star place so they can charge dumb prices, then they serve average burgers and chicken. Fake it til you make it doesn’t work with burgers and chicken anymore. You seen the economy lately?

Just found this place and the food is very good and fairly priced. I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was the perfect amount of heat. I didn’t regret getting it like I do with most hot chicken. The sides were also fantastic. Especially the cowboy beans. Super friendly staff that even through in banana pudding just to be nice.

Visiting from upstate NY. Wow the smoke stack burger and banana pudding were phenomenal!!! Wish we could come back for more! We ordered the junkyard burger one night and they included a free sample of their banana pudding and we just had to order again. Highly recommend trying that smoke stack burger Cowboy beans 10/10 as well

The BANANA PUDDING is the best!!!! I would give10 STARS if I could!!! YOU MUST TRY it. Better than Jim n’ Nicks, Corky’s and any other restaurant. Trust me.

Ordered take out.

Burger was decent & a bit dry.
Mac & cheese was all Mac & no cheese. Very little flavor, same for the baked beans and potatoes salad.

Baked beans were more like a dry chili.

Will try again later down the road

Ordered through DoorDash, we got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, the banana pudding and Mexican street corn taco salad. It was amazing!! Next time I have to dine in I’m sure it will be even better!

I ordered the street corn salad which is really good. The first time I ordered it through DoorDash to be delivered and again it was very good. The next day I actually went to the food truck to order the same salad and was turned away because they said they only took online orders only. I was like ok and was a little frustrated. Then today I go back again but this time I ordered online for PICK UP. I went to pick up my order and almost had to pull teeth to get it. I showed them the order number, where I paid and all that was on the app, the text messages and emails I got when I placed my order and when it was ready for pickup but for some reason it doesn’t show the name on the email just the order/confirmation number. The bag with my food had my name on it though again with the order number but the lady in the food truck acted like I was wrong and at first didn’t want to give me my food. I pulled out my drivers license so she could see it was me but again acted shady. I get that they have to check orders to make sure they don’t give away the wrong order but there were only 2 to go bags there and one had my name on it, what I ordered, what I paid and a confirmation number! Like I said food was good but just because of this woman’s attitude I won’t be back!
