Absolutely spectacular place. Went to celebrate my baby boy shower today. We were given a spacious event area for privacy, Wonderful servers with excellent service for all of my guests, and they even had live music! It was wonderful really. And that’s putting aside the atmosphere- the decor, the way the gold silverware was laid out on tables! thats how you know this interior design was brought to life by a feminine designer !
I absolutely love this place and will definitely be recommending it to lots of friends and family. Thank you for everything!

Super cute! Great food, great coffee. I liked being able to have a latte instead of just plain coffee.
It was a little pricey, which is to be expected, but our food/drinks came out at weird times, and I didn’t get all of my order.

I love buying flowers from Southern Roots. The picture of the bouquet i bought below was about $24.00. I picked out exactly what flowers I want, pay per flower cost, and pick what color to wrap them in. You hand them the flowers and they put it altogether for you.
This location also has a place to eat. I got the garden omelet with fruit as well as a vanilla latte. Both were delicious. Had excellent service, and place is very beautiful.

This is one of those establishments where the consistency of the food is hit or miss, my recommendation for this place is don’t…DON’T order Mexican food from here, barbacoa was cold, eggs were cold, the chilaquiles were soggy and cold and runny, they bring you Exquisita tortillas if you order one by itself apparently a single tortilla is harder to press than an order of three on the barbacoa plate. Not only were our plates cold and incomplete when they were delivered, we waited five minutes before the tortillas were brought out. There were exactly six other guests sitting in the dining area so I’m not entirely sure what the problem was.
The barbacoa plate is SUPER EXPENSIVE, at $22 they have the audacity to serve you three tacos with nothing but fat, nerves and who knows what else, these were DEFINITELY the worst tacos of barbacoa I’ve ever ordered anywhere. Southern Roots needs to stick to their American menu and stay away from Mexican cuisine and even at that, I’m not even sure it would be any better, my waffle tasted like it was frozen and reheated not homemade.
Revamp the menu, polish up the sluggish kitchen service and serve hot food and you might get better reviews. Southern Roots has the right concept, they just need to work on fixing the issues, temperature of food is priority, I should have called the Health Department but I didn’t.
One star ⭐️ for the good bacon and vanilla latte.

This place was recommended by a friend and is absolutely adorable! It can be a bit hard to find as the building is actually facing away from the street. Note that there is more parking in the back! The atmosphere is a mix of sheek meeting comfort. And there is also a small shop towards the back, with the flower shop up by the entrance. As for the food, we ordered the Texas waffle and the Chicken fried chicken which were both flavorful and delicious! This is definitely a place you want to come to for a girls brunch or to take people visiting from out of town. I have been recommending this place to all my girlies! We will be back!

We sat in the Jasmine Room with Seth as our waiter. He was very helpful and patient when explaining the menu. The food and drinks were all delicious as well.
I had the Porkbelly pancake which was Savory with the added sweetness of a pancake you’d want for brunch. The porkbelly itself was also perfectly crispy while still maintaining all the flavor on the inside.
My friend ordered the Cornbread and Gravy which she described as flavorful with a bit of a kick.
The Biscuits themselves were huge and could probably be eaten by two people.
Would very much recommend as a place to meet up with your family or friends

Food was good.I had the Bees knees breakfast hearty and flavorful. Mel was our waitperson very professional and courteous. The ambiance is perfect for couples. One item I wasn’t a fan of was the jalapeno cornbread. The muffin was anemic dry and was sweet. I guess my minds eye had something else in mind.

First time here, drinks took 15 minutes to come , it was two plain coffees , a mimosa and a Dr Pepper. Food took more than 30 minutes, pork chops were very tough and no flavor, bacon was thick but under cooked. When the food finally arrived, we ask for salt and pepper which took another 5 minutes. The waiter didn’t bother to come check on us or refill the coffees which were cold by the time food arrived. I had to get up and go to the waiter to ask for our check. $140 breakfast for 4 , definitely not worth it.

For the price nope! Chilaquiles were cold and soggy, fried eggs were great but they never brought me the salsa and tortillas to eat it with by the time they did they were cold, and to boot they brought me Esquisita tortillas really! shoulda listened yo my gut instinct and not ordered Mexican from this place. Next time, I’ll stick to Taco Ole , Estación, YaYas etc for a hot Mexican meal ☹️ ambiance and atmosphere is beautiful but if you like a hot meal and great service in Sharyland with a beautiful atmosphere stick Loretto! I have come realize this place will never replace Renee’s no matter how many owners have tried!
