Where The Wind Takes Me
We had an incredible first experience at Southern Prime Steakhouse, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we sat down, everything felt thoughtful and well executed.
We started with the complimentary bread and honey butter, which immediately stood out—the butter tasted fresh, whipped, and perfectly sweet. The Caesar salad was delicious and well balanced, even without anchovies, which was a nice option to have. The Prime House Burger was generously sized, cooked perfectly, and paired with fresh, flavorful fries. The 14 oz prime rib was cooked to the ideal temperature with amazing flavor, and while the lobster mac and cheese wasn’t overly cheesy, it still had great taste and was very enjoyable. To finish, we ordered the New York–style cheesecake, which was absolutely delicious and easily one of the best cheesecakes I’ve had.
The food quality was outstanding (a solid 9/10), and the value for the price was unbeatable, a 10/10 for a steakhouse experience.
The service truly made the night special. Our server, Amanda, did an amazing job walking us through the menu since it was our first visit. We were celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday, and the extra touches made it memorable—confetti on the table and even a photo taken of us at the end of dinner to capture the celebration.The atmosphere was quiet and intimate.
I would absolutely recommend Southern Prime Steakhouse for date nights, anniversaries, birthday celebrations with a significant other or small group of adults, and celebrating big accomplishments. It’s a place that makes you feel valued and turns a dinner into a memorable experience.

We went there for the first time for our anniversary. Sara took care of us. She had the table decorated and got us going with drinks and appetizer right away. I was looking at getting a steak, either the 6oz ($40) or 8oz ($45) filet. Sara said they had a 10oz filet so I jumped on that. My wife had the beef short ribs. We got the bruschetta as well. The bread was crispy, not soggy or too hard. The toppings were great. I would say each piece was 2 bites. Will order that again. My steak, I asked for medium. It was right on. The 10oz was a really think cut, but could almost cut it with my fork. I had the potato with cheese and bacon. I ate all of it! Side of veggies were cooked just right. With mixed veggies it’s hard to make sure it’s all cooked equally, but they were. My wife’s short ribs were very tender. She had the horseradish mashed potatoes and she really like them. For desert, since it was our anniversary, they gave us a molten chocolate cake which came with some fresh fruit garnish and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. My wife got the creme brule’ as it’s one of her favorites. Even after all the food previously we ate both deserts. The molten chocolate cake was good and with a side of ice cream made it better. When we were all done, I got the bill and knew it would be up $100+, but the 10oz filet was $90 by itself. Skip the 10oz and go for 2-6oz for $80! I had to ask and she said yes it was. It wasn’t on the menu, but in my mind, I figured 40 for the 6oz, 45 for the 8oz, so maybe 50 for the 10oz, but $90! Wow. Overall, great conversation, it wasn’t loud (5-6:30), Sara did a great job bringing and clearing everything, you should go! Just avoid the 10oz filet.

I’ve eaten here a few times, the service was good and the establishment was clean, quiet, and spacious. My main complaint is that for the price (very pricy) I would like more seasoning and a slightly larger portion size.

HG (Hannah) was outstanding, she went above and beyond. I had an absolutely fantastic experience! From start to finish, Hannah made sure that everything exceeded my expectations. The quality, attention to detail (her even asking what is the best drink for me, even though she is not a drinker), and level of professionalism were outstanding. It’s clear that a lot of care and dedication goes into what they do. The decor and the details for every drink and entree were outstanding. I couldn’t be happier with the results and made a recommendation to someone before I even left the restaurant. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Great service, great food, but I was a bit confused on why they didn’t seat us with everyone else. Our seats were nice, but completely by ourselves next to the kitchen. We could hear the servers joking and cursing for the second half of our meal (100% not the kitchen staff)l. That being said, people are people. We were also right next to the constant clanking of dishes for most of our meal, while 90% of the establishment seating was empty. I didn’t expect that at a restaurant at this price point, but the food and our actual server were awesome. That rates 4 stars, but it would have been substantially lower if the steak wasn’t so awesome.

Went with my wife for our anniversary. We were treated like royalty! We got there 30 minutes before our scheduled reservation and they seated us swiftly with no wait at all. Our table was prepped with happy anniversary decals. We sat in the beautiful wine are and had our dinner. Debbie was our waitress and she was fantastic and knew the menu inside and out.
Food was cooked to perfection and the wine was chilled perfectly. The manager came by and greeted us and congratulated us on our 19 years. We highly recommend this restaurant for great food and great service. Thank you SP and staff, especially Debbie.

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with family while visiting town. It was truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in the Sandhills. We all savored our cocktails and wine alongside turkey stuffing and potatoes. While it was a typical holiday Thanksgiving spread, I opted for a filet mignon, which was spectacularly cooked to perfection. The service was stellar, and the environment was incredibly friendly and beautiful. I can’t wait to go back for a special night out; it’s a really cool place with great hospitality and quality food and beverages.

Really more like 4.5 stars! We came here for our anniversary and loved it! They decorated our table and gave us a photo at the end of the night! The service was amazing. Our server, Van (or Dan can’t remember) was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and personable! Definitely will come back and request him. The food was great, but I wouldn’t get the Short Rib again. The potatoes were great but I like my short ribs to be fall apart tender and I had to use a fork and knife. The flavor was great! My husband got the land and sea and loved it!

We were in town and decided to visit based on the numerous high reviews. We did not have a great experience. The steaks were very poorly cooked. No flavor whatsoever and tasted overall very plain for the price we paid for them. The drinks were even worse. Bourbon and berries was like drinking a smoothie with the large chunks of fruit that would get stuck in the straw. The mojito was a lemonade with a splash of coconut. The service was slightly better but we would go long periods with our waitress walking right by us without stopping or saying anything. Then there were two waitresses who were having words with each other right in front of several tables.
Overall the atmosphere is good and the wine room is beautiful. We would recommend the cheese board and soups. But aside from that, everything else was complete crap for the price. We even mentioned several times to our server about our displease with the drinks and all that was said was I will let the bartender know.

We were extremely disappointed following our recent visit. We are regular customers and typically dine with you a couple of times each month, which makes this experience especially surprising.
We both ordered our usual filets, but unfortunately they were poorly prepared and overly salty. In addition, when our meals arrived, we had to request steak knives and then waited approximately 15 minutes before receiving them.
While less significant, but still disappointing to us, we asked twice for a bread basket and never received it during the entire evening. The bread is usually one of our favorite parts of dining with you.
We truly hope this was simply an off night, as this experience was very out of character compared to our many positive visits in the past.
