We stopped by here with friends during a camping trip at nearby DeSoto State Park. I enjoyed the basil cream chicken pasta. The rolls were really very good! Soft, fresh and sweet. Our table shared the onion rings and they were awesome. Large portions – we definitely had to go for a walk afterward!

My wife and I went there for a homemade meal for dinner and our expectations were exceeded.
It’s a very nice and personal decorated, clean family restaurant with a positive atmosphere.
Kathy, our server, is very friendly although professional and is listening and responding to our wishes.
Our order was for typical Southern dishes and they were served with a delicious touch to set them apart from many restaurants we’ve been in the South.
I had the best Pork Chops ever eaten outside our own kitchen.

The BEST food around! The fried green tomatoes are the EVER! Everything I’ve tried has been top notch and they have a great variety. Excellent baked goods and sweets too. Go see them!!!

Stopped here for an early dinner after driving the canyon rim nearby. The service from Kat was top notch and the food was amazing. I’m a food snob from Cajun country Louisiana and this was delicious! The portions are huge and the prices were very fair. The chocolate cake was by far the best I’ve had. We will definitely return when in the area.

This is one amazing hidden lil gem in Fort Payne!
We didn’t exactly have the extra money to eat out this evening after a doctor’s appointment, but what led us here tonight was what this place offers, and how they represent this community. Starting November 1st, they are helping this community by having kids eat free. Please call and inquire about this prior to visiting to get more information. Their food is locally sourced and they do one incredible job with presentation. Yes I’m Southern, however I’ve always preferred unsweet tea over sweetened until tonight when I tasted that delicious blackberry sweet tea they make in house. I will only drink a sweet tea from here, ever. We kept our orders simple and yet the food was gourmet. It’s so adorable and homey here too that you and your family settle right in. The staff are so kind, patient, and attentive to their customers. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner and what a wonderful woman with a huge heart. I urge each of you to donate what you can at checkout to help cover the costs of meals for the kids that come here to eat during the month of November. Community is everything and the staff here proves that they care about the issues faced with SNAP benefits being cut next month. We owe it to folks like them by doing our part as well. Every little act of kindness helps.
For you first timers here such as myself, you have got to try the fried green tomatoes. Don’t deny yourself one of their burgers, and by all means eat you that tasty chicken salad sandwich!
Thank you Southern Harvest for the wonderful dinner tonight. You have customers for life.

On vacation and this wonderful place just happened to be right down the street. Our server Autumn was amazing as was the entirety of the rest of the staff. Very welcoming and communicative. There was a very large party that arrived shortly before us and they made sure we were okay with the wait (and then the wait wasn’t even as long as we expected it to be) I had the chicken fried steak with Mac n cheese and smashed potatoes. Vince had the hot brown. Hands down the best food I’ve had in a long time!! If you’re in the area do NOT pass up this wonderful place!

Fresh made food.
A unique Ceasars salad with mixed green to go with the usual romaine. Homemade dressing.
The hamburger steak was seasoned just right, wostershire and pepper with a nice crust, topped with peppers and onions. Fresh mashed potatoes. Pillowy soft roll.
The chicken fried steak was seasoned perfectly with a homemade gravy. The crock of beans, seasoned with ham, was a perfect accompaniment.
Portions large enough for leftovers.
Looking forward to our next visist and trying other menu items.

They only update their menu on Facebook. They charge way too much for their food, in all honesty. It’s good food, but it’s too expensive for what it is. They also charge per ranch side you get, and 80% of the time that ranch is so watered down it’s a beverage, not a sauce. Like it’s so liquidy that when you dip a fry into it, you can’t even see the ranch on the fry. It’s really yummy ranch when they don’t water it down, but you never know whether or not it’s watered down until after you’ve ordered it. A simple Caesar salad is $18. A regular cheeseburger is $16. Their chicken salad sandwich is $16 even though you could get one that tastes better from Food City for $6. I used to like it here enough when two people could eat for $35, but these new prices are the last straw for me. I won’t be going back again. Which sucks, because this was our staple for eating out when we were too exhausted to cook. Oh well, they also removed some of the best items from their menu.

I’m a well known foody in our family and was the person who picked this restaurant based on the reviews, but sadly, we were very disappointed. Honestly don’t understand all of the 4-5 star reviews. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is similar to visiting your horder aunt. A giant freezer and lots of clutter in the entry area. The remainder of the restaurant wasn’t much better. Despite that, we hoped the food would redeem them. Sadly, the food was mediocre at best. All of the food was just meh and nothing is worth a mention. The service was adequate, our waitress forgot one of the entrees and had to be reminded. To top it all off, they charged us $1.03 for a glass of water. We only noticed it after we left due to the fact they only show a bill summary when checking out. We definitely don’t recommend eating here.

This diamond in the middle of nowhere will NOT DISAPPOINT! It was absolutely the best food we’ve ever had and will definitely drive the hour and a half to eat here again! My husband and I ordered the special and he got the trout and I got the hamburger steak. Both came with smashed potatoes, fresh green beans, corn on the cob and a yeast roll. We we starving so we also got the fried green tomatoes as as appetizer and were blown away by the flavors, textures, and taste. We got 2 different flavored cinnamon buns to go as desert and they were okay and I imagine they’d be better fresh. My only disappointment was in our waitress. She was very inattentive, forgot condiments we requested, didn’t refill drinks and had a lifeless personality. Other than her, we had the best lunch experience and even she wasn’t terrible, she just wasn’t great but thankfully the food more than compensated.
