Randomly stumbled upon this place, sure outside has much to be desired but because of the asphalt not the people. Inside is warm and cozy so winter is a great time to visit. Many dishes are fresh prepared and it’s a small business so more the reason to support them and despite the solo desk gal being so busy, she was really sweet and courteous.

We’ve ordered 3x and each order was great in portion, well seasoned and delicious. My Mother enjoyed the food so much she literally sucked the juice from the bbq chicken wing bone! The meat falls off the Turkey bone, greens are not over cooked. fish is cornmeal crispy !

Came here for lunch while my van was getting serviced across the street. As a native of the south I’m real skeptical of restaurants above the Bible Belt claiming “soul food” status. This spot however tasted like a piece from home. If you zoom in close to the Mac and cheese you’ll see little morsels on them. That’s called seasoning. Too many restaurants up north don’t have it on their food. The string beans were good as well. My baked chicken was so delicious and I got 4 thighs where the meat was so flavorful and tender that it was slightly falling of the bone. I’m not gone lie, that cornbread taste like somebody grandma back there baking. Just saying. Last but not least they have kool aid. With the right amount of sugar in it too. Definitely the best “soul food” restaurant I’ve been to up north. I’m not sure who was working during all these other bad reviews but around lunch time my food was super fresh and the staff was cool too. Definitely bringing back the fam to try it out

I was scared to try this place for the longest because of some of the reviews but I was greatly surprised! My food taste AMAZING! The wait was a little long due to the cashier also packing orders but the food was worth the wait! I really enjoyed this whiting with shrimp and macaroni and cheese. It was delicious!!! Definitely will be back! My boyfriend had the bbq ribs and he couldn’t stop raving about! Sorry I have no photos I dived in

Ordered a Whitefish and Shrimp dinner with Mac and Cheese and fries and a Fried chicken dinner with beans and candied yams. Will say not impressed. the fish and shrimp were soggy and gross. The fries were lump and soft. The mac and cheese was buttery and not much cheese. The chicken was soft and not fried and crispy at all. The green beans were extremely salty and the candied yams were just yams. No sugar or flavoring at all. I was expecting more. Everything tasted like it was made days before and just reheated and served.

Done with them. I tried their place in Queens, and was not happy. I tried their place in Uniondale, and they did not pack most of what I ordered. I’m done. Never again.

I ordered fried cat fish dinner and a side of potato salad. Absolutely delicious. The greens were tender and the cat fish perfectly seasoned. The potato salad was really good as well as the candy yams. This was ordered thru Uber Eats but worth stopping by in the future. Finally really good soul food

I’ve heard of their catfish and decided to order. The catfish is fresh, well seasoned and cooked perfect. The Candied yams on the side is nice! They can do a little better with their peach cobbler.
