We’ve ordered 3x and each order was great in portion, well seasoned and delicious. My Mother enjoyed the food so much she literally sucked the juice from the bbq chicken wing bone! The meat falls off the Turkey bone, greens are not over cooked. fish is cornmeal crispy !

Came here for lunch while my van was getting serviced across the street. As a native of the south I’m real skeptical of restaurants above the Bible Belt claiming “soul food” status. This spot however tasted like a piece from home. If you zoom in close to the Mac and cheese you’ll see little morsels on them. That’s called seasoning. Too many restaurants up north don’t have it on their food. The string beans were good as well. My baked chicken was so delicious and I got 4 thighs where the meat was so flavorful and tender that it was slightly falling of the bone. I’m not gone lie, that cornbread taste like somebody grandma back there baking. Just saying. Last but not least they have kool aid. With the right amount of sugar in it too. Definitely the best “soul food” restaurant I’ve been to up north. I’m not sure who was working during all these other bad reviews but around lunch time my food was super fresh and the staff was cool too. Definitely bringing back the fam to try it out

So I just left here about a hour ago. Got a side order of whiting, 2 dinners which was a platter of Mac and cheese yams and BBQ chicken. Also the other dinner was collard greens and fried chicken(breast and a thigh). Collard greens had no salt, chicken wasn’t fried to its full potential meaning soggy at the top, yams was extremely, sweet BBQ chicken was dry. The fish was good but so much grease was left in it. Mac was a runny cheesy. A bathroom run was needed immediately. Not pleased with this food. Not going back. Desserts up on the menu but they have not one of those desserts.

Terrible customer service. I placed an order and it was cancelled once with no reasoning. I called they stated they didn’t have whiting but DoorDash shows up everything else they have. We placed another order without the whiting(even though it still showed on DoorDash) and then it was cancelled again with no reasoning 20 minutes later. When I called and inquired about the second cancelled order ,the very rude lady answers and says they do not have anymore food and they are closing soon then hung up. She could’ve easily let us know it’s busy and we wouldn’t have wasted our time ordering a second time. Very disappointing after placing an order for my family. Will not be ordering again!

I ordered the turkey wing dinner with green beans potato salad.. it was absolutely disgusting. I don’t like gravy on my turkey wings.. I prefer classic baked turkey wings. The green beans taste like it came out of a can with old potatoes added… Potato salad was gross .. $26 for horrible tasteless food.. Google this place deserves zero stars… It’s a no for me!!

The best dammm cat fish & shrimp ever!!! The reason I gave it a 4/5 stars because all they need to do is easy on the salt & oil on the collar greens. I give the cat fish a 10/10 & as far as the greens go I give it a 8/10. Definitely a southern meal. Just be easy on the salt please

Tried this place for the first time today and the food was straight … the staff there was very friendly as well. Im shocked that there wasn’t a long line out the door. Make sure you try the Mac and cheese

Omg!! I’m on a food program where I can’t have sugar in my food. I found a mecca here for that. Their turkey wings were so succulent, as was the turkey neck in my string beans minus the potatoes. Also got the ribs without BBQ sauce. Looking forward to the next time when they’ll have collard greens. 🙂
