Such an amazing breakfast experience! Every single dish was on point—the eggs Benedict was creamy and flavorful, pancakes were fluffy, bacon was crispy, and the fruit was fresh. Service was outstanding. Staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend!

Delicious food. The place was very busy when we arrived. Staff was running around taking care of everything as quickly as they could. The place is very small and kinda cramped. I had the Southern Style omelet. I think I paid more for our meals than that red menu posted shows. So, prices have gone up. I couldn’t finish the whole plate. I ate about 3/4 of it and was stuffed.

Came for brunch on a Sunday. Super busy but got seated right away, only a short wait for food.
We had omelettes and hashbrowns and it was all absolutely amazing!
Highly recommend the food, and the service was excellent, 5*

Very friendly, locally owned, great food!
We loved this little local restaurant. The home fries were delicious, like having thick cut chips for breakfast. I had the classic Benedict, and my husband had the Southern Style Chorizo. We enjoyed both, along with the LARGE cup of coffee.

Breakfast. everything was perfect. Awesome country ham this place is beyond amazing. They are my favorite breakfast by far anywhere I’ve ever eaten. The Macacha burritos make you think he died and went to heaven. The pork chop is completely off the charts, steak and egg are to die for. Will definitely be back. Seriously, this place has the best steaks and pork chops on the planet

Came in with my husband and daughter. Though we were sitting quickly that is where the good service ended. Our server ended up leaving The facility after we ordered and we never got refills. Once my two year-old got her food, she picked up the salt and pepper shakers to put some on her eggs as she normally does, and the guy came over and told us not to let her touch them cause he doesn’t want her to break them. She was using them gently and honestly how is she going to break them? Food was bland; no seasoning and over priced. Server never came back to table. Someone different brought us bill. 2/10 won’t be back.

This is hands down my new favorite breakfast all day place and definitely on the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Huntsville overall! They have a lunch food option, but I’ve only gotten so far as the breakfast in several visits thus far. Everything seems to be prepared from scratch, like a home cooked meal from mom growing up. Nothing seems like it came out of freezer or low quality. They do the basics EXTREMELY WELL. I usually have the 2 eggs breakfast meal, and I ALWAYS finish the plate clean, eating every morsel. My best friend who usually goes with me has the Tomale breakfast or the chorizo breakfast, and he says it’s the best in Huntsville! I have zero complaints about the restaurant except maybe the size. The secret is out about this hidden gem, and it gets busy, especially on the weekend. That said, the longest I’ve waited is 20 minutes. The service is very personal and competent, so they keep it moving in a good, efficient way that doesn’t make you seem rushed! I could go into explicit details about every item I’ve written, but I’ll just say it’s all seriously the best of that item I’ve eaten in a breakfast place in huntsville, easily!
It’s owned by a small Hispanic family. The two brothers run it with their sister (I think). As I understand it, one of the owners’ wives does the pre prep on anything that requires that, such as the tamales and the seasoning of the meats. Even the grits are great here, and I usually skip that. They simply do everything on the small but ample restaurant really, really well!
I can not recommend them enough! They are closed on Mondays, but other than that, they are open till 8 pm every other day. As I said, be ready for a little wait on weekends as the size of the space isn’t huge. Whatever the wait, I promise you it’s worth it!

Southern Egg Cafe is unpretentious. It is easy to miss it from the road; it sits back in a corner at the edge of a small strip mall on Bailey Cover Road. It is small, relatively new, but it has gathered a faithful clientele and business appears to have picked up considerably since it opened and people learn about it..
We tried it recently, without any expectations for the quality of the food. It was very good. We ate there twice before leaving town for several weeks. We returned again a few weeks later when we were back to Huntsville.
The pancakes have always been cooked perfectly. They were a golden brown and not burned. The bananas added to the top made for an excellent breakfast. Other toppings are also available.
On another trip I ordered fried eggs with hash browns and an English muffin. The muffin was very fresh, served warm and also not burned. The eggs were cooked so that the yolk was runny–just as I had ordered.
The hash browns were brown, again not burned, and had an excellent flavor.
The egg sandwich on a biscuit was also outstanding.
The service was friendly. The coffee was fresh, not burned and had been recently made. Moreover, my cup never got empty before being filled again.
When it gets busy, there can be a wait and staffing is limited. No doubt, this restaurant, like many others, has had a problem finding employees to work, especially when serving an early morning breakfast.
Southern Egg Cafe is a new restaurant. It is worth the effort to locate it and give it a try. I highly recommend it.
