The three times I’ve had Southern Comfort food, it’s always, always outstanding! Fried Chicken dinner with mac n cheese and collard greens, soul rolls, fried Haddock sandwich for lunch with Cajun fries and steak tips with mac ‘n cheese and collard greens… EVERYTHING cooked to perfection! Well seasoned, gooey mac n cheese that stays gooey when reheated the next day for leftovers. I am so beyond happy that this long standing Brockton family made their restaurant home here! Have Southern roots myself, it’s like eating home cooked food…for the soul. Can’t wait to try their fried okra and potato salad next! Staff is great, servers are always the sweetest (I can’t remember all of their names but last one began with an S) and the bartender Kaiyah (I’m probably misspelling her name) made my strawberry lemonade drop to perfection. I do not like overly sweet drinks and tend to lean towards drinks like an Old Fashioned and I would place her drink right up there as perfect!

Had a great dinner celebrating my friends birthday.. drinks was goood and food was on point.. they owe me a chicken wing so going back for more… headed there this weekend to celebrate my husbands 50th birthday dinner so it’s def worth it.. nice lounge area to entertain.. Enjoy

Had a great time at dinner with the hubby. The food was soooo gooood and the waitress Angelik was very attentive and took very good care of us. All the suggestions she made were perfect. My margarita was delicious. Can’t wait to go back!! Will definitely be checking out the brunch!!

Just had an amazing visit at Southern Comfort. Very friendly front staff welcomed us when we arrived. Our waiter was awesome and attentive! The food was DELICIOUS. I’m always searching for good soul food and recently moved to Stoughton. This place checks all the boxes and some!!! I enjoyed the wings, fried chicken dinner. My husband got the catfish and loved it as well . Highly recommend . flavor and portions are PERFECT!!!

Food is bomb but it’s a long wait for it. I would definitely return. If you have time definitely go but if you looking for fast this isn’t the place. I loved everything I tried and will definitely be back.

My wife & I wanted to get out the house and take the kids somewhere to eat. We’ve been waiting to try this restaurant we went when it was in Bridgewater before it closed down. We were excited they opened back up in Brockton. We arrived around 5:10pm on a Saturday. We got to the host stand and the host told us they were not doing any dine in or take out for a couple hours. Literally had to pack up the kids and go find somewhere to eat. That is very unprofessional. It wasn’t busy. Two women walked in 2 minutes before us and were already placed. There was no explanation as to why they weren’t serving any food for a couple hours. I’m African American so I love soul food and really wanted to make this my new go to but after today I will not be returning. This is why restaurants don’t make it. Crazy to not be served on a Saturday at 5pm.

I want to start this review with I didn’t even get to taste the food. My first attempt to eat here I arrived with my family was told that there was a table so I went back to my car to get my wife and 3 kids. When we came back in I was told there was no tables no take out no nothing for the next two hours. I said ok there must of been a mix up. We left and said we would try again tomorrow which is TODAY. WE checked online it said that they opened at 11 so again we arrived at 11 and was told they weren’t quite open it be another 20 mins. So we said no problem we can wait. Then the lady came back and said the kitchen would open at 12. You would think that doing that twice I would be done but no I tried again for dinner made a reservation same day 5 pm. We walk in there is a Dj playing I could barely hear the waitress as I ask her if the brunch menu was all they were offering. She said there was an event it would be over at 6. I said ok again we would come back. We waited until 6 came back to only hear there will be an hour transition. This has to be the WORST experience I have ever had dining. I gave this restaurant 4 chances in 2 days and somehow they still failed. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Super friendly staff from the moment we walked in. We had the catfish, mac & cheese and red velvet cake and loved every bite. Bartender was smiling, helpful and the lemon drops were tasty. The owner came out and introduced himself and clearly has great passion for food and the future of this business. Looking forward to trying more menu items on our next visit!

I came to this soul food brunch spot expecting comfort, flavor, and warmth. What I got instead was disappointment served cold, late, and with a side of regret.
2 seperate parties and voiced how much of a let down the food & service was.
It was noon and there already sold out of catfish. The waitress didnt even let us know untill after the order was taken. Order was placed at 1220 food did not arrive untill 2pm.
Service was a complete disaster. We waited forever just to be acknowledged, and when the server finally showed up, they acted like we were inconveniencing them by ordering food. The space was not filled there were 3 servers. A fourth one arrived only to sit at the bar and eat food. She arrived way after our order and managed to stuff face at the bar in plain view. Drink…..Forget it. Salt pepper forget it. We asked multiple times and had to go to the bar to get ourselves. I could’ve dehydrated and still not gotten a second glass of water.
On arrival there was noone there to greet or seat us. I had to walk up to bar to ask for seating, and the whole place felt chaotic instead of welcoming. Mind you the place was not even 1/4th filled. Soul food is supposed to feel like love — this felt like punishment.
By the time my food arrived salmon patties came cold there was no grits to pair with no creole sauce as decribed on menu. Table of 6 and 5 of 6 meals came out botched. I finally located a “manager” I just regretfully paid for my spouses meal and bday girls meal. I did not even touch the salmon patties. As i explained to the manager i didnt get any grits the waitress comes up and says she just placed on table (bruh 30 mins late). I was beyond livid. I truly want Black businesses to thrive but this was the worst experience ever!.Save your money, save your appetite, and save yourself the disappointment. There are way better places to eat brunch — literally anywhere else.
