My parents are owners at Westgate Resort in Gatlinburg TN, so we visit with our family here several times a year. Southern Comfort ( the bar ) has become a ritual for us- and we’ve never once had a bad experience! In addition to the beautiful holiday decor this December, the live music made for easy listening as we laughed, talked and made new friends! What REALLY makes this bar a great experience isn’t just the great food (which comes from the Southern Comfort restaurant attached) but it’s the BARTENDERS. Specifically Melissa, a beautiful and fun loving woman who obviously loves what she does! Always smiling, Melissa knows her way around a moonshine bottle, and it shows!! She’s amazing with the residents and guests who are staying at the property, and treats everyone like family! In all my travels, I’ve never encountered a bartender as attentive and knowledgeable when it comes to specialty drinks. We always have a lot of fun in this bar- so if you’re in Gatlinburg for a holiday or live nearby, Stop by the Southern Comfort Bar inside the Westgate Resort. Ask for Melissa, and she’ll make you the BEST Smoked Ole’ Fashion you’ve ever tasted!

Last night, February 14, 2026 after leaving the arcade my wife and son walked over to order for to go. She walked up to the bar and there were two other people in front placing to go orders. The male bartender took the two people‘s order and then walked away. For 30 minutes, my wife and son stood at the bar waiting to place an order and the male bartender walked past them and made eye contact no less than five times, but continued to ignore them. after 30 minutes, my wife called me and I told her just to leave so my family and I had Ramen noodles for Valentine’s dinner. Thank you so much for the awful service.

Our Family of 8 had dinner at this delicious restaurant at the Westgate Resort. Dustin was our server. He was very professional, prompt, and personable. We had drinks and appetizers to begin the dinner. The fried tomatoes were great, the deviled eggs were delicious and the okra was amazing. Everyone was pleased with their entree. The steaks were cooked to perfection. Large portions to share.
We did not feel rushed, after dinner we had a great conversation. I would highly recommend this place for a nice evening dinner.

The service was good, she was very apologetic about everything. Luckily we ordered the kids food with the appetizer. They got to eat, the queso was ok. My wife ordered a steak and specifically asked that if all they had were fatty or tough cuts she would order something different. 50 minutes later our server stopped and looked hard at our table. Our food had yet to come out. I told her it was fine just bag it.
We opened our meal after a 5 minute drive to cold food and a fat, tough steak. I swapped food with my wife cause honestly I’ll eat it. Yeah I wasn’t eating that. To top it off they left out one of our sides. I took it back. All the manager would do was comp the steak. I told him just to trash it.
Before the big fire here, I loved that place, but this was our first time back and it was horrible. Love the staff, just please do better. That restaurant could be a go to spot with a little correction.

Southern Comfort Family Restaurant – Gourmet Southern Flavor, Smoky Mountain Style
Tucked inside the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Water Park in Gatlinburg, Southern Comfort® Family Restaurant delivers a dining experience that lives up to its name — rich, flavorful, and full of Southern soul.
Having dined and stayed at Westgate’s Las Vegas property many times, I came in with high expectations — and this Gatlinburg gem did not disappoint.
I started with the Southern Caesar Salad — crisp romaine tossed in creamy Caesar dressing with house-made cornbread croutons and shaved Parmesan. It was a perfect Southern twist on a classic starter.
For the main course, I ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon, and it was outstanding. The 8 oz. Wild Alaskan salmon was seared to perfection and glazed with their signature Southern Comfort pecan glaze, adding a sweet and smoky finish that paired beautifully with the rich, creamy mac and cheese on the side. A serious flavor win.
To top it off, I treated myself to their Signature Smoked Old Fashioned, and it was worth every penny. Served in a smoking decanter ignited from cherry wood, with Buffalo Trace bourbon, blood orange bitters, Luxardo cherries, and an orange expression over an ice sphere — it was theatrical, aromatic, and flat-out delicious.
Jordan, our server, was friendly, professional, and incredibly attentive — she made the experience even better.
Now, for the downside — parking is a mess. With the water park and resort traffic, directions were unclear, signage was lacking, and an employee even sent us (and three other vehicles) down a tight dead-end lot that was nearly impossible to turn around in. If you go, leave extra time for parking and be prepared to navigate some confusion.
But once you’re seated, the food, drinks, and service make it all worthwhile. Southern Comfort® lives up to its name and is well worth a visit — just bring your appetite and a little parking patience.

It’s always a treat to find a bartender who’s not just mixing drinks but is an artist, and Ashia is exactly that. She has this incredible energy that makes the whole bar feel alive. Ashia doesn’t just pour drinks; she crafts an experience.
Her specialty, the “Tropical Sunset,” is a masterpiece in a glass. It’s a vibrant, delicious blend of rum, mango, and a hint of lime, served with a delicate orchid. The flavors are perfectly balanced, a real taste of paradise. But beyond her amazing cocktails, it’s Ashia’s personality that truly sets her apart. She’s warm, funny, and incredibly attentive. She remembers your order, makes great recommendations, and has a way of making everyone feel like a regular. Ashia elevates the entire bar experience from good to absolutely fantastic!

Our server was great and the atmosphere was beautiful but the food is horrible!!! The Mac and cheese was not even hot. It was almost cold with what looked like Ritz crackers on top?? Had little to no cheese? It’s called Mac and cheese!!!! Very small portions. I ate only because I was starving and I was paying for the meal. Ended up getting something else to eat later on in the evening. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Trotsky was an excellent server—attentive, thoughtful, and friendly. He even noticed I had my own water bottle and brought me an extra water to fill it up without me asking, which was a really nice touch. The venue itself was great, with a welcoming staff all around. Food was both affordable and delicious, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

I had the Southern Hospitality Burger multiple times during my honeymoon at Westgate and it did not disappoint!! I highly recommend getting a side of Southern Comfort BBQ on the side to dip the burger in, makes it ten times better! Everyone has been so kind every visit and it makes for a great experience.
