To start let’s just say the food we had was awesome, very tasty and we sampled a lot, but you can tell it sat in the kitchen for a few as some items were not served hot.
Staff is friendly but clustered, one person brought out drinks, another took the order and another served our food. Definitely needs to have consistency in the service.
Inside the building was a touch warm, felt better outside than in, needs to have a little more comfortability.
Atmosphere was fair, mixed bag of patrons
As for final price, it’s fair it’s a touch pricey but you get great portion sizes
The patio is comfortable and has a picturesque view of the river. A good percentage is under a tiki type roof, but if you want sun, there are plenty of tables offering that, too.
The menu has a good variety, so it was hard to decide what I wanted for lunch. After some serious consideration and asking my bartender what were her favorite items on the menu, I finally made up my mind. Since my I am a fan of Shrimp Tacos, I choose their Blackened Shrimp Tacos with a Side of Mexican Corn.
The two tacos were stuffed with lots of Blackened Shrimp, purple cabbage, topped with mango and pineapple salsa and a slice of avocado. As a side, I stayed with the Mexican theme. Their Street Corn was served on the cob, which I am not use to, but the flavor was solid and flavorful.
I enjoyed sitting at the bar on the patio and the bartender provided attentive service. Other servers even stopped by and asked how I was enjoying my meal.
I’m looking forward to coming back and trying the fresh Grouper.
For those of you who may not know, Southern Coastal Cusine is owned by the same folks you bring you, Grafton Oyster Bar. So you know it is quality.
Friday evening at 8:15 PM. Sat down in a table exterior to the bar, where we have been for 12 minutes and not one server has approached us. Finally assumed that we needed to go to bar to order food and drink while three servers collaborated over at a table together for 27 minutes without checking on ANY table (see attached pictures). Meanwhile bartender (only one that appears to care about the customers) is leaving bar to go around to tables, take food orders and deliver drinks as well.
Working on getting pictures of this so-called “excellent service”.
If I’m the bar owner, I would be highly embarrassed especially since the evening was obviously “not packed”.
