Southern Charm Bistreaux & Bar is a nice restaurant with a floating environment. Meaning the enviornment and decor is good for a romantic dinner, a business lunch, a weekend gathering with friends, etc.
The restaurant was very clean, bathrooms included.
The staff here is very attentive and knows the dishes extremely well for suggestions. The owner even visited several tables to check on the guest.
Price wise, the appetizers were a tid too much. But all other entrees and salads were priced well.
My friend ordered the mashed potatoes, bayou rolls, and bbq shrimp. She stated all were well less the sausage in the bayou rolls, citing it did not pair well with the other items, and the sauce for the shrimp was salty-which I agreed.
Me and my nephew ordered the magnolia mushroom, beef and bib salad and the chicken sandwich. The sauce used for the magnolia mushroom was phenomal! Definitely a good pasta sauce, but the there were no shrimp in the dish as the menu cited. The beef and bib salad was great, except the entire salad was whole lettuce leaves. Spending several minutes slicing your lettuce before eating each bite is time consuming. The chicken sandwich was EXCELLENT. Seasoned perfectly and that aioli sauce was magnificient.
Overall, I would visit again and try some other items. Southern Charm Bistreaux & Bar is a restaurant I would recommend others to try.

My short ribs were not tender, fatty and bitter in taste. All the appetizers we had were good and the service was excellent. The reason for only 2 stars is because I was looking forward to the short ribs and craw-cornbread dressing and both disappointed me.

The food had amazing flavor and a great portion. Not too much, not too little. I left feeling full but not sick feeling. The atmosphere was a laid back feeling. Wife got the chicken sandwich which was so soft and delicious. Chicken wasn’t over fried or under cooked. We’ll be coming back!

This place is awesome! My neighbor/ owner invited us a while back and we finally went. I must say after dining there I regret not trying them earlier. The atmosphere and service is top notch. I ordered the 14 oz. cowboy rib-eye, medium rare, and it was well seasoned throughout and cooked to perfection. The food came out within 10-12 minutes of placing the order. Our server, Robert , was very pleasant and checked on us several times as we dined. The prices are more than reasonable for the quality of service and food received. I highly recommend and will definitely be dining there in the future. So many other awesome menu choices that I want to try.

My sister and I are foodies and wanted to try a new place for my niece’s Bday. Reviewing the menu, a couple mentioned the crawfish beignets & gumbo were delicious so we got excited.
My sister and I had appetizers, entrees, drinks and cocktails. My niece, a picky eater, ordered a shrimp platter; needless to say, EVERYTHING was delicious. My Nancy Parker salad stuffing was good – I didn’t complain in-spite of my avocado being hard. I can imagine if it were ripe, I would have eaten it all too.. The ambiance & service was wonderful.
The heart of the charm came from the service. The staff was great and our food came out (seeming like minutes) after the order. If you’ve been to Emerald’s – you know what I mean when I say service – the quick turn-a-round and attention reminded me of that experience but in a more relaxing environment. Lastly, the Chef/Co-Owner came out to greet us & to our surprise, honored my niece bday by gifting her a complimentary meal when she returns. Even if it was a strategy to bring us back – we were returning anyway. In-spite of my avocado experience. I still gave it a 5 start rating. We are in a pandemic and businesses are doing as well. Just finished a wonderful lunch (birthday celebration). A vast food selection and a great server. Some food selections were not available, but not a problem. I welcome them to our West Bank restaurant dessert. They should do well with the quality and atmosphere. We’ll certainly return to try other menu items.

We were excited to try a new restaurant. The menu looked great! That’s as far as it went. I asked for a glass of wine and was told they were not serving wine, only beer. As some moments passed I see a glass of red on the table to my left and a glass of white go by and served to another table in front of me. I stopped what appeared to be a hostess or someone in charge to ask about the wine. She apologized and told our waiter. He served my glass of red wine with the wine running down the glass and all over the stem. Fast forward and the food is served. I ordered a side salad, field peas, and cornbread and my boyfriend ordered a sandwich. As the waiter served the cornbread he apologized and said he was embarrassed to serve it because it was burnt and he wouldn’t charge us for it. It was charred! I asked him to please take it back that I couldn’t eat it. It should have never left the kitchen. I took a taste of my field peas and they were undercooked and crunchy. They looked like black eyed peas and not field peas, which would have been okay had they been cooked. No complaints about the salad. My boyfriend’s sandwich was okay but he wasn’t impressed. The chef came out to check on our table. He apologized and said the glass of wine was on him. It was a kind gesture. Needless to say we won’t be back unless people we know tell us how amazing the food was. Funny side note – I asked our waiter what the “Gulf” Fish of the Day was aa written in the menu and he replied Salmon!

Me and my family had an outstanding time at this restaurant. We had a party of 25 celebrating my mother’s birthday. The food was delicious. The service was excellent. The waiter and waitress were very attentive. I cannot wait to go back and eat there.
