Absolutely one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. We stopped here for a late lunch during a road trip and every single person in our group was blown away. I got the Brisket Burger (The General) and wow it was heavenly. The brisket was so tender and juicy it practically melted in your mouth. Finger-licking good doesn’t even begin to describe it. Highly recommend this place

I ate here for the first time today and it was fire!
I ordered the fried chicken breast, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, and fried okra. It was all cooked fresh and seasoned well. The service was exceptional and I rate them five stars!!!!

Amazing grub. Everything perfectly fried.
Best fried catfish I can remember in 20yrs. No joke. Perfectly cooked. 10stars.
Greens, great.
Beans and potatoes, also great.
Coyboy beans, good but needed more spice.
Service was a little slow, but totally worth the wait.

First time trying Southside today… I got the Double South Side Classic and fries. The Burger and fries were great! This will definitely be one of my go to places in Battle Creek.

They must put AWESOMESAUCE on the burgers. Pictures are of “The General” and “Grubzter”. Not only was the burger good, but the brisket on the general (YES I SAID BRISKET) was yummville. What a great place, clean, friendly, easy in and out. Will DEFINITELY be going back to try the other food. Oh and did I mention there is a loyalty card.

What a Great place for a Quality bite to eat. I had the Catfish and spaghetti special , my daughter had the crispy chicken sandwich basket with a big glass of kool aid with fruit. She said it was way better than Popeyes
We will definitely be heading back soon.

The food here is nothing short of amazing. My wife and I had the catfish dinner popcorn shrimp dinner, with collards, fried okra, and Mac and cheese for sides. All were fresh and perfectly cooked. I appreciated the fact that the fried okra had a light, crispy batter, while the catfish was cornmeal crusted. Many/most places they would have shared the same coating mixture, meaning the okra would have been too heavy or the catfish too light. Everything came out hot and crisp (except the Mac and cheese, of course, which was rich and creamy!) Collards were delicious and almost velvety in texture. The dining room is fairly spartan, but clean and comfortable. We will definitely be returning the next time we’re in the area! This is well worth the 5 minute detour if you’re passing by Battle Creek on 94!

Oh my goodness. I can’t with some family and most of us don’t live locally, so we decide to try something local. We over ordered in order to try a variety of things. Listen folks, EVERYTHING was AMAZING. Not ok. Not alright. Not good. Everything was amazing. I’ve never not been able to find some kind of small thing that didn’t go well. That didn’t happen. Do yourself all a favor, go here now.

I just love this place. I work in roofing so I travel all over Michigan and I like to try new places. Southside Grubz did not disappoint. Their service is super friendly, their menu options are really unique and everything I’ve tried there has been delicious. I visited there on two occasions already in a month’s span, and i don’t even live in Battle Creek. After I ate there the first time, I knew I had to go back and try something else. Their catfish is excellent, and so was their Brisket. I can’t remember what the brisket dish was called but it was served on some fries with cheese. It was amazing. Anyway, this place is one of a kind. And if coke products don’t do it for you, they even have Kool-Aid on the menu and they serve spaghetti as a side. Amazing.
