Food was good, i ordered a 4 egg vegetable omelette, with cheese. What I like most was the live entertainment. A waitress and a customer singing some of the old hits from the late 60’s early 70’s. Jimmy Ruffin, Smokey and the miracles, Aretha Franklin and more. I also like the motto on the wall and the back of eberyones hoodie “LETS EAT”

I visited the South Side 35 Diner early afternoon this Tuesday(10/28) at 1 pm. It was easy to find a parking space in the parking lot that was quite close to the entrance of the diner. Upon entering I only had to wait momentarily before the hostess led us to an available table. The diner had many types of seating ranging from bar seats, booths, and tables. It was almost full when I entered, but had cleared out a little by the time I left. The hostess gave us our menus and we were promptly greeted by a server who politely greeted himself. The diner was clean and the ambiance of the diner was inviting with bright open space. I ordered a latte with almond milk which was the only dairy option and a freshly squeezed orange juice. There were three menus presented which made it a bit overwhelming to choose the options, but of the three one was specifically seasonal. Looking at the menus kept me preoccupied until the server came back with the drinks around 5 minutes later. The latte wasn’t overly sweet and wasn’t too strong either. The orange juice was very delicious with orange pulp in it which I recommend. The food ordered was a “South side omelette” and steak with veggies which took around 20 minutes to come out. The food was quite pleasant though it lacked a bit of seasoning, so I added some salt to it. Overall, the cost came out to around $70 plus a 20% tip. The diner was a pleasant way to relax and enjoy a quick bite.

Enjoyed the music as well as others did. A waitress and a customer were singing. I said the roots from Cleb Bene must have grown up the street

The first thing we notice was the friendliness of the staff. Everyone greeted us warmly and welcomed us into the restaurant. Service was great! Food was tasty and plentiful. Varied and interesting menu, LOTS to choose from and many healthy dishes and some out of the ordinary choices. Kids menu.
Everything homemade – including the hash, and we all know how I love a good homemade hash!
The restaurant is lovely, clean and the decor changes with the seasons. It’s very fallish right now, in huts of yellow and gold. Accessible♿️
Parking right on site.
Can’t wait to return. This was our # diner in the Somerset Patriots Diner Passport…. Making progress!

Had a great experience dining here for lunch. The portions are huge and the food is tasty. The staff are also very friendly and check in to ask if you need anything occasionally with a huge smile. Thank you for your amazing service!
The milkshake is very delicious!

This was my first time at South Side. I just wanted a solid…nothing special diner breakfast. I was pleasantly surprised the food was exceptional. I love eggs Benedict but know it can be a crap shoot. The hollandaise is often off and the poached eggs are hardened or close. I had the Jersey Benedict and it was perfectly delicious. I also noticed they have a fresh squeezed orange juice machine. I asked the waitress, Donna, how it tasted and expect to get one next time. She stopped by not long after with a little taste. It does taste like you are eating an orange in liquid form. I ha e nothing but great things to say and will most definitely be back often.

Amazing food. Quick, polite, clean, and great tasting. I got the strawberry French toast one day and the following day, I got the peanut butter and banana French toast. For the two of us with drinks, the bill was under $50. The bathroom was very clean as well. Staff were all in clean uniforms and extremely polite. I personally can’t wait to get back to the area and eat there again.

Within a week’s time, had 3 meals here. If you like “home cooked” tasting food, this diner is the place. First time had a delicious pastrami/corned beef sandwich special; huge portion. It was 2 meals for me.
Second time was lunch with friends and ordered hot open face roast beef. Again, huge portions with fresh side of veggies. Each time, a bowl of soup came with meal. We tried matzoh and Manhattan clam, again delicious.
Third time was breakfast of French toast with eggs and Taylor ham. Again, too much to eat, but best breakfast I’ve had in a while. For the amount of food you get here, pricing is reasonable and everything delicious. Service is prompt and courteous. I would give them 10 stars!

I came here for some homemade soup on a cold winter day, it was so good I ended up having two bowls. That and a plate of disco fries and I was set. Great place with incredible wait staff.

Classic diner with many booths and some tables, clean & bright interior. Came for breakfast and the menu has all the typical dishes. The service was warm & welcoming, timely and attentive. Definitely want to go back for lunch/dinner.
