South Pier Creamery & Market: The Dairy Gods Have Spoken
Listen, I came for “just one scoop” and left with three pints, a waffle cone the size of a toddler, and a newfound respect for cows.
The ice cream? Creamy. Dreamy. Possibly life-altering. I asked what the most popular flavor was and the cashier didn’t even hesitate. I respected the confidence, so I ordered it—and now I see in color again.
Staff was friendly in that “we’ve seen some things, but we still love ice cream” kind of way. They even laughed at my terrible pun about “mooo-ving” to the area just to be closer to their Butter Pecan.
10/10 would recommend bringing a spoon, an appetite, and emotional support for when you have to choose between flavors.

One of the main reasons I started visiting South Haven was to visit Sherman’s ice cream. Unfortunately as we all know, they were sold a few years ago and closed last year. I was happy to find South Pier and see that they sell multiple brands and actually have 3 Sherman flavors. The portions are quite generous, especially the waffle cones.

Finally got to a couple of pints in the freezer and so glad I did, simply delicious, the owner claimed that their IC was better than most of the other super-premiums and now I’m a believer, awesome!!! Even better than EL favorite.

The staff have a dedication to their duty that is above reproach. Their Non-Dairy! yes you heard that correctly the plethora of non dairy and it was not just sorbet (although if you like that they have those as well) my beautiful wife to be is vegan and had nothing but a smile on her face while enjoying her non dairy ice cream!! I loved the good ole with dairy personally but both were amazing for sure

first ice cream shop with no strawberry topping for sundaes ever. So opted for blueberries and somehow hot fudge included-odd combo. Service was courteous though. Sat inside, chairs missing foot pads so very wobbly. Otherwise ice cream ok.

Your classic ice cream joint. Plenty of options. Sampling is encouraged. Waffle conesade on site. The staff is wonderful and the servings are generous. Well worth the stop any day, but especially on a warm summer evening.

I love going to South Pier Creamery when I am in South Haven. Their service is super quick and their people are very friendly. The ice cream is a little more on the expensive side, but they’re not cheaping out at all- I would say you get exactly what you pay for. My favorite flavor to get here is the Michigan pothole and if I want two different flavors, I’ll get the Michigan pothole on top of mint chocolate chip.
