Drove 30 minutes across town to try this place after seeing a review on Capo Eats. I must say, I was not disappointed. I ordered to go and was tortured during the 30 minute drive home. It smelled so so good. I got the pulled pork plate with baked potato potato salad and baked beans. I got the ribs with cole slaw and fried apples for my husband. I got their sweet bbq sauce for the meats. Both meals came with fried cornbread like my grandmother used to make. Portion sizes were good. The meats were perfection. I will make that drive across town again. The building is a small non-decsript building that I would have driven right by without my Google Maps. So be careful and don’t miss it. I spent $31 with tax for the 2 meals.

Here’s your clean, dash-free review for a BBQ restaurant that celebrates the ribs and pulled pork:

Where the smoke tells a story and the meat speaks for itself
This BBQ spot is everything you hope for and more. The moment you walk in, the scent of slow-smoked perfection hits you like a promise. The atmosphere is warm and unfussy, built for people who care about flavor more than frills.

The ribs are unforgettable. Tender enough to fall apart with a glance, glazed with a sauce that balances sweet and heat without overpowering the meat. Each bite is a reminder that patience and fire make magic.

The pulled pork is just as impressive. Juicy, rich, and packed with smoky depth, it’s the kind of dish that doesn’t need a bun but still makes one better. Whether served solo or stacked high, it delivers comfort and craft in equal measure.

Sides are solid and satisfying, but the real stars are the meats. This place knows its way around a smoker and treats every cut with respect.

Final word: if you want BBQ that honors tradition while hitting every note of flavor, this is the place to be. Come hungry and leave happy.

I got the Dailey special, chicken and dressing. It was the driest, tasteless dressing I have ever tasted. The serving was ample, but I could only eat a few bites of it. My dog ate the rest. I have had good food there before, but yesterday was not a good experience.

It’s hard to qualify this as a BBQ joint if the meat isn’t grilled or smoked. The pork was bland and obviously out of an oven, the potato salad was so bland I needed half the salt on the table to eat it. Their fried okra was delicious tho, service is great and genuine, but it unfortunately does not make up for the lack of soul and flavor in the food.

This was ok bbq. Not too special. The slaw and sauce were vinegar based. The mustard potato salad was great. The cornbread was served cool.

Food is good and prices are reasonable but they were already out of some items with an hour until closing and weren’t making more. I’ll be visiting again but probably order ahead.

The rib meat is very tender and flavorful. The sides are even better. And the staff there are the kindest.

One of the perks of my job is that I get to travel and find really cool places to eat.
Today I stopped at South of the River BBQ in Clarksville, TN. An awesome little hidden gem!
I had the ribs, pulled pork, fried cabbage and a piece of the chess pie. Wow!
The smoke flavor on the meat was perfect. The ribs were falling off the bone, not dry, perfectly cooked by someone who loves what they do.
The pulled pork was done to perfection, and I am a pulled pork snob!
The meat didn’t even need any sauce, but let me tell you about the sauces. I had the hot vinegar based and the sweet sauce. I don’t even know where to begin! Them sauces can make any meat taste even better.
The fried cabbage was seasoned to perfection. Juicy and not soggy.
Chess pie taste just like grandmas on Thanksgiving.
The family that runs this place took care of me. Monique and the whole team really focused on providing an experience that only a family who loves what they do could provide. I was honored to be sent away with a to go box/bag of great food to be sampled and enjoyed later.
Come eat here ASAP! This food feeds the soul.

I have had barbecue from Texas to South Carolina and the only great barbecue I have had was in Texas and South Carolina BUT I would recommend this place as having fairly good barbecue ( no good smoky flavor I love ) . The sides make up for the average barbecue though . Some of the best baked beans and potato salad I have had in this area . Well worth a stop anytime your in their area .
