We stopped in on a Sunday at about 10:00. Overall it was just your great basic breakfast food that we all look for. I ordered the hamburger steak with potatoes and toast and the hamburger steak was perfect and juicy. It wasn’t busy when we walked in but when we left it started to fill up. Would definitely go there again. I’m not sure about their potatoes. They slice them super thin and then fry them. A bit too crispy but good flavor.

This is where you must get breakfast in Grand Marais. It was hot, fresh, perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. We consider ourselves breakfast snobs. This place did not disappoint. We ordered the Bacon Cheeseburger Omelet and the Big Breakfast. The fried potatoes were fresh and out of this world!!!! Staff was friendly and attentive. Coffee was hot and fresh and refilled often. Highly recommend!!!

We kinda fell into this restaurant .. driving around look for a local restaurant and found this gem .. the gem is the fresh fish they serve out lake Superior ..they had fresh Herring believe it or not i never had fresh Herring . In the south we use Herring as bait not food . But I totally enjoyed it . The other members had the cod and the Herring to me was better .
Family own businesses that do a unbelievable job .

I stopped here for breakfast one morning while camping this last weekend. I ordered the sporto omelet with fried potatoes and whole wheat toast. Fairly standard breakfast fare but it will get the job done when you’re moving and grooving. It isn’t a huge place and the locals were saying it was busier than usual so there may be a wait if you come here. I was able to snag the last two top so I lucked out. I’d say this is the place to go if you don’t want to bring cookware and food with you on your camping trip! I liked all the nature art and what not decorating the establishment as well.

I love trying new cafes for breakfast. Omelet was 8/10. Fried potatoes 7/10. Toast was 5/10 because they used country crock or some shit. Coffee was 8/10.Waitress was very nice even though I had to listen to her vent about her life’s problems to her friend for 10 min. Usualy i dont pay more than $15 for an omelet, hash browns and toast. Here it was $19. With that said, I wouldn’t not stop here again. Thanks

This place has a hometown mom and pop feel. The best things about this place is that they open earlier than other restaurants in town and better yet, they are open every day of the week unlike some of the other local places. We came here because the Blue Water Cafe (which is also very good) was closed on a Wednesday. The omelette was very good and all the breakfasts options offer you one pancake. Customer service was a little slow but we were not in any hurry and the wait was worth it. All of the breakfast menu options are affordable. We found many of the locals prefer this place for their meals.

Great diner. Extremely friend staff with warm kind service. Food was absolutely incredible. I had the fish (Herring) , eggs, fried potatoes, and toast (pancake). Some of the best fried fish I’ve ever had and I’ve had a lot being from Louisiana. First place I visited after we moved were and I can say, we definitely felt welcome. For sure a must if you’re looking for peak diner food with one of a kind small town hospitality.

A small, homey-feeling cafe with great food! It was quiet on a weekday morning & the staff greeted me as soon as I entered the establishment. Gives off the feel of eating breakfast at home on a Saturday morning. The potatoes with cheese & onions were 10/10. Cash or check only, so make sure you have either on hand (otherwise the Holiday Station directly across the street has an ATM). Highly recommend this charming little cafe!

We shared an omlette with pancake and the grilled ham and cheese sandwich with fries. All was very good! Disappointed within the 35 min wait to get seated at 10am but it’s the fault of an overreaching bureaucracy forcing them to close most of the inside seating.
