Returning from a visit to Laguna Beach with my beautiful wife, eating at South of Nicks becomes a must. The atmosphere is very good, the attention of its waiters is up to par and its food is spectacular, the photos that I upload really do not do justice to how well you eat in this place.

Food and drinks were DELICIOUS. Very authentic Mexican food, the rice was soooo good and tasted very fresh and homemade. I got the birria tacos and was so sad to leave some of my food behind. The tacos were generously packed with birria, I got full with 1.5 tacos but wanted to keep eating be it was THAT good. Service, absolutely great. Ambiance, very lounge-like with the music and dimmed lighting.

Food was very good and they had some interesting types of margaritas. Try to get a table by the windows for a nice view of Laguna beach and the ocean. We split a few plates and each tried a different drink. I definitely recommend trying multiple things and splitting with your crew.

Great views if you have a window seat! The food was delicious. Some of the best Mexican food in California, in my experience. We started with the tableside guacamole, which was chunky and well-balanced. Next we were with the fillet mignon fajitas and Birria tacos. The meat on the fajitas was so tender, and mixed with the onions and bell peppers, it was so tasty. The Birria tacos were perfectly fried and absolutely delicious. We ended the meal with the butter cake, which was some of the best butter cake I’ve had. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely be back.

South of Nick’s is a must if you are in the Laguna Beach area. The food, drinks, and service were all equally amazing!!…I strongly recommend you start with the Jalapeño & Watermelon Magarita with the Shrimp and Taquitos as an appetizer. Secondly, as main the chicken flaunts(extremely flavor). Last but not least, finish your dinner with their famous Butter Cake…..Please Please Please if you don’t get anything else please try the Butter Cake!!!…..In fact maybe start the meal off with the Butter Cake it’s just that good!
