The food looked good, but unfortunately wasn’t. House salad was the best thing. Floors were sticky. Steak had a HUGE piece of fat, veggies were nasty, chicken was dry and had no flavor.

Excellent service, delicious food. That peach cocktail is a necessity on a hot day.

Our first visit here. Enjoyed the atmosphere greatly. Not too loud like at other Steakhouses. The staff was friendly and humorous . The food that we tried was very good. We will be back. Our waiter (Christian) was very attentive and made sure our drinks were refilled in a timely fashion.

We called for Valentine’s reservation and all was good with time and a booth. When we got there, much to our surprise it was a closed menu and 70.00 per person…..one app per table, one entree per person and one dessert per table….cost 140 plus tax and tip. Really not worth it and the bad thing is when I got the reservation, no mention of a closed menu and the cost. The waiter apologized…..and got the impression we were not the only ones surprised by the extremely poor communication. We have gone there about 4 times….but not again….not the value to the quality, poor communication, no communication with the owner or mgr at the event for such a price and how do you get over the feeling you have been had on special night. Plenty of other places to go that have the value and quality needed. I plan to tell the friends that recommended this place a while back and others to surely look before you leap to eat at this place of smoke and mirrors. PS……the cheesecake dessert was good but it was frozen in the middle……really….for that kind of price you would expect they would at least make sure it is thawed. Good grief!!!

Our dinner was outstanding!  The crab cakes were delicious, both filets were cooked to perfection with excellent flavor, and our side dishes were fantastic too.

You would think with $70 per person cost, the service would be on par with similar high dollar steak restaurants in the area (Silver Fox, Texas, III Forks,  Ruth Chris, etc), but unfortunately we had a not so pleasant serve experience.  He did recommend the house cab to drink, which was good.  And he did bring our food to us promptly, but we had to ask for water 4 times before we even received our glasses, he was not proactive with refills either.  A water carafe was finally brought during the dessert round.  We even had to rearrange and clear space for our plates, as the server did not take the empty plates prior to bringing the next menu item.  He never explained the menu to us (options, pricing, etc) or even told us his name…we had to ask.

Needless to say, we are extremely disappointed that our $200 dinner experience included an extremely subpar server.  Oh I forgot to mention, he took our signed tab prior to us leaving the table, and went over to the bar, where he and the bartender took a shot together in front of everyone at the bar….is that legal?

Thank you server Sean, we will definitely not be returning to SF Steak and Crab because of you. A 4 or 5 star rating would include great/exceptional service.

Still on our local restaurant exploration since our 6-4-15 move into Allen, we figured we’d give South Fork Texas Steak & Crab a try. I’m happy to report that I’ll have leftovers for lunch tomorrow and the dinner was excellent! Their gumbo is so good you’ll want a larger bowl to enjoy the excellent flavor and “heat”! The salads were crisp and fresh with just the right amount of dressing. Our main course of filet’s, with my choice of new potatoes and my wife’s choice of a baked potato, was where the taste buds started to scream YES!!! Fantastic taters and steak! Anthony served us well and the dessert was a treat, too. We’ll definitely be back soon, and often!

Not good for the price, wouldn’t recommend.

Pros: Great service, although my friend and I we’re literally the only people in the restaurant so that was expected.
My Chicken Fried Steak and House Salad was good although messing up a Chicken Fried Steak is almost impossible.

Cons: Weakest margarita I’ve ever had, essentially a cup of ice. No flavor and such a small amount of liquor I couldn’t even taste it.
Fondue was not good, the mushrooms were most likely canned as they weren’t even put on the grill. Fondue overall was very bland.
“Loaded baked potato” is basically a baked potato with butter and chives, with almost no sour cream cheese and a laughable amount of bacon.

If everything was half the price I would give it 4 stars but this place is too expensive for what they’re offering.

My wife and I stopped in after seeing some reviews online. It was awesome from start to finish. Our server did a fantastic job and did a great job with recommending a few different items and explained to us that the food is all made from scratch.. We were not disappointed. He also explained that since it is a smaller restaurant, the owner hand selects the cuts of meat. I had the 12 oz ribeye and it didn’t dissappoint. We also ordered the crab cakes and they were stuffed full of crab, not bread crumbs. The owner stopped by to our table and made us feel very welcome. We will return when we want a great steak!!!

Went for our 18th anniversary and had a great time. We split an appetizer, entree, and dessert. The steak was phenomenal – super tender. All the staff came by to help celebrate. It will be hard to top that experience but we will be back soon.

We have been to SFT four times. The first two times, the food was excellent as well as the service. I enjoyed the salmon and my better half enjoyed a steak…both times. We raved about the place. The third time, we went to their Thanksgiving Buffet and it was a disaster for us. The food was somewhat warm, the prime rib was tough and stringy and the beverage they served was very bitter. Absolutely not worth what paid for. Okay, so they got the buffet wrong their dinners were great.

We were back for a New Year’s eve dinner with another party. We shared our Thanksgiving experience with the waiter and apparently it was not good for SFT either and they are not going to do it again. My better half and I decided to share a meal this evening because the sizes of the steaks they were offering were too much for either of us. The waiter was very personable and accommodating, but when we received our meals, it was the wrong order it was their special surf and turf meal costing $55. He said that was okay he would not charge us for it. We sent our plate back because my better half is allergic to shell fish. They brought us a plate without the lobster tail but it still was not the bone in rib eye. The manager came over and he agreed it was not what we ordered. We received the top sirloin steak instead of the bone in rib eye and he said he would take care of it. When we received our bill, they charged us for the surf and turf ($55). When we complained they adjusted the bill down to the price for the bone in rib eye which was $34 and again, what we received was the top sirloin which was on the menu for $19. The waiter’s response was “you are being charged for what you originally order and we gave you the surf and turf.” What?? But, that is not what we got and the manager agreed. We waited for our waiter or a manager to come by, but we were being avoided. I had to track down the manger who agreed we did not get the rib eye and he finally agreed to “comp” the difference between the bone in rib eye and the top sirloin. The other couple told us later that they overheard a conversation and the establishment was apparently unhappy because we did not order the $55 surf and turf meal and, being senior citizens, we were sharing a meal. It was a very unpleasant experience. I could not help but feel like they were trying to get as much as possible out of us thinking we would submit. I suppose we are not the clients they wish to serve and we will accomodate their apparent wishes. It was a horrible experience, we will not be returning, and we will not be recommending them to our friends in fact just the opposite.
