Stopped in for a late lunch on a Friday and place was hopping. It was a half hour wait for an outdoor table so we sat in the bar. Wished we had known you can order drinks and take them onto the beach where there are picnic tables while you wait. The bartender was a little slammed so service could have been a little better but it was still good. Really good food and delicious drinks. Beautiful setting right on the beach. Valet parking only.

A great beach front restaurant on Gasparilla Island that pleases on many levels. We stopped for lunch coming from the state park beach and enjoyed the food, the service and a beautiful view of the Gulf. Ordered Conch Fritters and Crab Cakes which tasted so good I’d be happy to order again. And eating this on the long outside porch right on the beach made lunch even better.

Stopped in on a Sunday evening. We throughly enjoyed everything from the gorgeous views of the Gulf, the wonderful service and the delicious food. The bathrooms were very clean. The bread is made in house and served hot. The ahi tuna tasted fresh and the half chicken had crispy skin and was juicy and flavorful. We are so glad they were able to rebuild. Cant wait until we stop back in.

Lovely, casual place to spend my birthday afternoon! Beautiful Gulf views from the covered porch. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious! We shared the Shrimpcargot and I had the Strudel as my entree. My husband had the fried shrimp. All very good! We will definitely return!

We ordered drinks and had to sit at the bar- so a lost opportunity, as we could easily have decided to eat as well. We just wanted to sit first….

We had a great experience at South Beach! The environment is beautiful right on the beach. We had very attentive service and the food was excellent. My husband is still talking about his burnt ends sandwich, which I tried and it was definitely amazing!

My dad came here in June and talked about the coconut chicken ALL SUMMER at home in Tennessee. So we planned a trip down for his birthday so he could have it again. We were so disappointed they had taken it off the menu for the season since their website still shows it on the menu.

The sign stating “No Valet While Parking at Restaurant” created immediate confusion. During a follow-up call, management’s explanation contradicted the on-site signage, claiming valet is only required if visiting the beach—a detail not explained the day prior. Instead of clarifying, the manager tried to convince me the sign read something it didn’t and called us “crazy.”
This followed an earlier interaction where, in response to my dad asking “how does this work,” the valet was condescending, stating, “I get in and park your vehicle.” (obviously) When I tried to ask about the sign, he pretended he couldn’t hear me. Clarification was all we wanted.
The situation escalated when the valet said “do somethin” as we were leaving after a heated exchange (which is what I will do now). I could have handled it more calmly, but it’s reasonable to expect a question to be answered without condescension. We have enjoyed the food here in the past, but the unprofessional environment created by both staff and management makes it impossible to provide an updated review of the food so Ill average it to 3.
