Our love of BBQ goes way back. Our owner started cooking for his friends and family at home and loved to see how his food brought them joy. He knew he needed to bring that experience to the public and after working in numerous restaurants and bars, he was finally able to open South BBQ in 2010! Nice quiet place to grab a bite to go or to dine in. I got my food to go as I was looking for something filling fast. I ordered the grilled chicken Ceasar salad. Employees appear nice and only a few at the register speak English. The rest appear to speak Spanish only. I when in the afternoon (1226p) and there’s plenty of seating. Both at the bar/counter or in the seating area.they also do catering. They do not appear to sell alcohol though there is a fridge that has a variety of canned and bottled beverages like sodas and juices.

I have been coming here for years but service seems to be getting worst and worst. Before writing this review I noticed I’m not the only one that has noticed. Also the 20% gratuity automatically added to every check, so how are the servers supposed to be motivated to provide a good service when they know their tip is guaranteed. Super disappointed my family and I used to love coming here. Today we had our usual 1/4 chicken with ribs combo which was great, but we were not greeted properly. Server left the table without us finishing our order ignoring the kids orders. Everytime we needed something we literally had to walk over the register and ask for it. Every part of the service was horrible hopefully the owners start noticing a pattern.

I asked for my steak to be medium came out well done. The meat tasted old. The rice was flavorless and so were the vegetables. I tried to eat as much as I could purely just because I payed for it, but I couldn’t even do that. Picture provided to prove I actually didnt finish it and is in the garbage now. This is a big problem for a restaurant to have take this as constructive criticism and fix it.

Walked in greeted pleasantly, the food is amazing and the portions definitely match the price. The place is kept clean very nice establishment. I will recommend this place all the time.

waitresses were extremely rude!!!! ignored us when we first walked in didn’t even acknowledge us until we came into the front. they were talking the entire time to each other and waited so long for our food. i never write reviews but this is my first time ever and they need better waitresses.

Used to come here for lunch break like a year and a half ago. Food was decent. Came recently. Food was garbage. Chicken dry. Rice dry and hard. Beans and plantains were the only thing that were okay. Not coming back. Ever. Oh also, they added a 20% gratuity for just me and another person. What? I decide whether I give a tip or not, not you!
