A Flavorful New Gem in Oaks!
South Avenue Indian Cuisine just celebrated its Grand Opening, and it is a welcome addition to the Oaks dining scene.

If you’re looking for authentic flavors and a welcoming atmosphere, this is a spot you won’t want to miss.

The Atmosphere
The first thing you notice upon walking in is how clean and spacious the restaurant is. Whether you’re planning a date night or a larger family gathering, the seating is comfortable and the layout feels open and bright. It’s conveniently located right behind the Oaks Movie Theater, making it the perfect destination for a “dinner and a movie” night.

The Food
The food was, in a word, fabulous. Every dish we tried was incredibly flavorful and fresh:
* Samosas: Perfectly crisp and golden on the outside with a savory, well-spiced filling.
* Entrees & Sides: The masala was rich and aromatic, paired perfectly with fluffy basmati rice and warm, buttery naan that was ideal for soaking up every last bit of sauce.

The Service
What truly sets South Avenue apart is the hospitality. The owner is amazingly friendly and personally checked in to ensure everything was just right. That level of care and attention to detail is rare and made the dining experience feel special.

Summary
* Must-Try: The Samosas and Naan.
* Vibe: Modern, clean, and family-friendly with Indian music videos that get you moving
* Location: Right behind the Oaks Movie Theater.
South Avenue Indian Cuisine is off to a fantastic start. Great food and even better people—give them a try for your next night out!

We had quick stop before watching movies at oaks theater.
Nice ambiance with two private group spaces quick service as well as helpful owner. We order masala dosa and onion chilly dosa and chiken dum biryani to go . Food was tasty however they need to improve in Sambhar test and quantity. Biryani was tasty with enough quantity.

Hands down the best Indian Cuisine ever!! The masala dosa was perfectly crispy and the potato filling was absolutely delicious. The garlic naan I couldn’t get enough of with the warm, fluffy, and buttery taste. I had to hold back from eating more of it just so I could have room for more food.

We also ordered chicken biryani and it had the perfect amount of flavour and could not have been cooked any better. I wish I could replicate it at home lol. The staff catered to our requests and were super nice. Am definitely coming back when I’m in the area again.

10/10!!

Disgusting: fried insect in noodles, zero accountability

I ordered noodles directly from South Avenue Indian Cuisine and found a fried fly cooked into my food (photos attached). When I contacted them, instead of taking responsibility, they told me it was my fault and accused me of putting it there myself. Absolutely outrageous.

They even tried to brush it off by saying they gave me “free food,” as if that excuses serving contaminated, unsafe meals. A fried fly in my noodles is not a small mistake — it’s a serious health hazard. Their denial and refusal to take accountability is even worse than the insect itself.

This restaurant proudly displays a health department certificate claiming cleanliness, but my experience proves otherwise.

Eat here at your own risk.

Came for dinner before the movies, service was very attentive to our schedule and food was out quick. Ask about the spice levels before ordering, I switched dishes with my son. Shrimp with noodles and vegetable biryani was delicious, both big portions. Mango lassi was thick and perfect for cooling down after spicy food, tasted sweet and fresh. Had the leftovers two days later, STILL fantastic. Dining room was beautiful, will eat here again.

Some of the best Indian food I ever had the pleasure of eating. The taste was so well developed with deep rich flavor profiles that can only be accomplished with care and attention. The staff was so friendly – My partner and I loved every moment. If I didn’t live on the other side of the state I would gladly visit often. A++ simply outstanding.

I think this is one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve been to in the Philadelphia area. We ordered the gobi Manchurian, chilli paneer, chicken samosa, veg samosas, malai kebab, Chicken suka, Chicken biryani and butter chicken. Everything was exceptional. I wasn’t too crazy about the samosas but over all it was very good. The butter chicken reminded me of the ones I had in Delhi and this was by far the best I have had in the US. I will go again pretty soon I am sure. Good job boys…thanks to the father and son duo Ranjit and Yash.

My daughter and I went here for dinner. The restaurant was very organized and clean. The server is great. I was not too familiar with everything so the server helped me order. I got the tandoori and curry dinners. It was absolutely delicious. Lots of food! . I also got naan bread and a coffee. Everything was perfect! I definitely will make this a place I will visit more often!

We just left South Avenue and I’m writing this review in the car because it was THAT good. Wish we had taken pictures. We had butter chicken, paneer tikka, masala dosa, chana saag, and garlic naan. Best butter chicken we have ever had, and I can be very difficult with chicken. Ranjit was wonderful, explained the menu, and offered suggestions. The masala dosa is something we have never tried, and it was amazing (Ranjit’s suggestion). Comfortable seating, super clean and inviting. We will be back as soon as we can!!

Good Indian food, let alone South Indian food is hard to find in this area, but this place is great! I stuck to my staple, onion rava masala dosa, and it did not fail. The place overall is updated and clean. The service was also great, our waiter paid close attention to check on our food allergies.
