I come here all the time but I figured tonight was a good night to give them a shout out, they had everything so cute for Valentine’s Day. Girl dinner or date night, South 40 is the best. The minute you walk in you’re greeted by anyone and everyone that’s working. Every bartender is a doll, and my girl Sarah is so sweet-if you come alone you’ll have someone to talk to, and if you come back you’ll have someone who remembers you. I’d like to gatekeep this place but I want it to be here for years to come-so bring your girl, or just stop after work, but definitely stop by. And ask for ranch with anything you order.

This is an awesome place to grab a drink and some good food. They also do events and live music. The only downside I can say is the prices of the food items are pretty high. To be fair it seems prices everywhere have gone up, not just here. Still, love coming here for a tasty burger and a beer. My wife really liked the wedge salad. Fries where perfectly crispy and hot with the big tasty burger. Give the Jalapeno burger a try, my father in law loves the chipotle burger as well. Bartenders and wait staff are always friendly and attentive.

Great place. I haven’t been here for a while. Great new owners, no longer cash only. They will have bands in the summer on the patio. We’ll definitely be back. Excellent menu.

I moved down to Elbert from Denver. So, I wasn’t sure how’d this place would stack up, but let me tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. The food is absolutely AMAZING, and the staff is more friendly then any place I’ve ever been.

The South 40 has become my favorite spot. All the food is great, but my favorites are the Elk Sausage, wings and the Ruben Sandwich with Fries. If you’re having a sweet tooth, I highly recommend the Purgatory Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream.

Regardless of what you choose to eat or snack on, you will NOT be disappointed.

Highly suggest checking it out!!

Wonderful and charming place in small town. I had Rocky Mountain Oysters (underwhelming, tastes like any breaded and fried meat), both elk and rabbit/rattlesnake sausages(very spicy and flavorful), and BBQ brisket (very tender and fresh). What a wonderful time.

Delicious. High quality meats for a decent price. We even asked if they owned the cattle used for the food because it is so fresh. I got the prime rib and him the pastrami. Both were very good. Decoration and vibe were nice and cozy. Waitress was great. Waitress said there is live music on Saturday so we are probably going to drive back and see what that is about. The set up is nice and we know the food is good.

The food was so good, this was the only picture we got! I liked the rabbit-rattlesnake sausage and coleslaw, and that brisket was AMAZING. The family recipe chocolate chip cookie-pecan pie was the perfect balance of salty and sweet with a crumbly crust. Everyone was friendly, the waitress took great care of us, and the place had a fun, laid-back atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back!

This place had two of the best desserts my wife and I have ever had. When was their purgatory pie and the other was their sweet potato cheesecake. Both are outstanding.

We had an amazing experience for our brunch on Sunday. Sara was the only server in the place and she managed to take care of 20+ people by herself we love this place!
