I brought 2 large containers of soup. The lady said that the soup was hot. The containers felt warm but the soup was cold. I wasn’t going straight home. If I was then I wouldn’t have mind. I brought the soup to sip on while outside. These restaurants need to provide better service to paying customers. Increasing the prices with less quality.

This restaurant started off decent but now it horrible from the food to customer service. When I walk in I’m the one with manners to say hello, thank you, and goodbye. The girl in there has a nasty attitude and on top of that the food just don’t taste good at all I gave them many chances because I like to support my Haitian community. I once had meatballs it was fried throughout I bought some turkey with rice last week after a long day at work I should have just bought bones it was dry with barely any meat and when I went back to get some more the girl gave me another little piece of meat I was so upset I just threw it out. Soumie will NEVER get my money again. BAD REPRESENTATION OF HAITIAN FOOD

I told the server I would like an order of chicken. The server starts to scoop a piece of bone into the take out bowl no meat just bone. I tell her that’s bone and she tries to tell me something along the lines that the chicken all the same. I was shocked and confused. I don’t know if they were being cheap with the serving of chicken but I never experienced that before. I didn’t get the chicken. I Don’t recommend this place.

I was craving for some “Mayi Moulin” & my husband mentioned for me to try the new Haitian restaurant on Front St. When I reached at Soumie’s outside’s appearance looks real nice. Entering, it was still a buffet style, nice soft Haitian music playing, like the fact it was not dark. The lady welcomed me nicely. Inside was clean and neat. When I reached home, they did not disappoint me at all. The portion of the meal was fair. The first taste of that “Mayi Moulin” took me back to Haiti with a quickness. I can’t wait to see what else Soumie has planned.
One thing, Soumie definitely has my vote and I will be returning. Best of luck Soumie and Congratulations!! I’m rating it a four mostly cause of the taste. I hope to rate it a five in the future.

Zero stars if I could …. the Patties were moldy, and clearly not fresh. Cornmeal had no salt, chicken tasted like it slept over. There’s no way this food was made day of sale. Staff was rude with no remorse for the mistake made on their end. Definitely do not recommend

I had Soumie for the first time and it was amazing ! The food tasted fresh and good, the service was good. She was very patient with and very honest. I love Hatian food and culture so this place made it even 100% knowing it’s right by my home and it’s fresh with good flavor. I love it definitely recommended!

Personally If you’re looking for a really good and delicious traditional Haitian food, Soumie is the spot. I like the fact that it’s a brand new small, quaint take out restaurant that is clean. The two times I visited, the staff behind the counter were very nice and polite. I usually get the fish which is made fresh to order, rather than have it sitting in the pan all day. Even one of the owners took the time out to greet me and give me some extra food and made sure I was happy before I left.

I had a phenomenal meal at Soumie. To be honest I found this place by accident, but I’m glad I walked in. The owners were super friendly and generous, sharing lots of samples and stories about their food. I don’t think I’ve ever tried Haitian food before, but if I could give this restaurant an 11/10, I absolutely would. I’ll be back soon. Thank you guys!

When the restaurant started it was nice to come in and be treated like a person, and always with a smile. When the owner Soumie puts food for you she makes you feel like she really cares about you as a person and she enjoys what she is doing. Now she has all of these young people working there and they serve the food like they don’t really care, like they don’t really want to be there. They just throw the food in your plate and their customer service is not the same. Some of them look like they don’t want to be there. I must add though that the food is good but when if you are planning to go there, when you go ask for the owner. She is always there and she will serve you way better.
