The food was incredible, the atmosphere and vibe are on point, and it’s perfectly located in the gorgeous downtown Winter Garden area — definitely a must-check-out spot.
Had the tuna & salmon tartare (phenomenal), a Summer Roll made with rice paper instead of rice (super fresh and light), and some eel sashimi. Everything was fresh and absolutely delicious.
Our server was fantastic and gave great recommendations. Safe to say… I’ll definitely be back. ✨
I do not like cream cheese in my sushi, and they were more than happy to accommodate the request. Also, this was the first time for me that the server brought out extra sauces to go with the sushi. Usually it is just soy sauce on the table. The truffle oil ponzu (spelling?) was exceptional.
I had the deep fried sumo roll, and loved it. They have a Winter Garden roll with just about everything, but the ISG roll (It’s So Good) was what we were steered to, and we were not led wrong in any way.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. Definitely going back.
The presentation was so beautiful and the fish in the ocean roll was so fresh and colorful. I truly wish there was an option to get a salmon roll already on the menu without cream cheese in it. I noticed all of the salmon centered rolls had cream cheese and I’m not a fan. I prefer a more traditional Japanese approach to sushi! But we finished with the molten lava cake and we loved it! I’ll definitely be back to try more things on the menu! Thank you to my wonderful waitress I forgot her name but everybody was really sweet to my daughter!
The service was pleasant and professional. They treated everyone well, especially my daughter (whose birthday it was)! Thank you!
The hot tea was a joke. Each pot held enough water for one small cup. Hot water refills were delivered in a carafe to then be poured into the tea pot. You know those tea pots that automatically spill no matter what you do? Yah. Remember, this was 3-4oz total at a time too.
The house salad was a fair portion. More than most Japanese places serve. Had a more veggies too – which is great. Standard ginger dressing – also great.
Salmon and Yellowtail were fresh. Sliced thick. Very fair and enjoyable.
The salmon steak with passion fruit sauce was fun. Nicely seared and the sauce was a nice compliment and Brazilian flare. I’d eat it again, though the asparagus was cooked with no crispness left all all (soft) and heavily salted.
The chicken stir fry was a failure. Salted beyond belief and the chicken was so overcooked and dry that it was hard for one in party to eat (we had two—the other portion was slightly better; slightly). The veggies and rice were acceptable.
The churros were enjoyed, and a lovely birthday touch. Churros at a sushi restaurant, though? Again, hospitality was on-point.
I wish Soulshi Lounge well, but in a metro area with well developed and recognized Asian food culture this Brazilian joint dishing out Japanese inspired food has some growing up to do.
