I had seen this place before when stopping at the Love’s truck stop nearby but had never tried it. When I first saw the brisket, I wasn’t sure what to expect because looks can be deceiving. I’m glad I gave it a shot though because I was pleasantly surprised.
I ordered the brisket sandwich and it was awesome. The brisket had a really good amount of smoke and the seasoning was just right. It had a nice level of salt without being too salty, which is something a lot of places get wrong.
I drive truck all around Texas and eat BBQ in a lot of different spots, and this place easily makes my list of the better ones I’ve been to. If you go, I definitely recommend trying the spicy BBQ sauce.

Been here dozens of times !!! Love it !!! Im a long haul trucker so when passing thru I always stop and eat here. I usually get brisket and sausage or brisket and ribs . Always good always fresh no complaints on anything and been going there for years. Should I mention I will be returning again???? No need to,,, Its Soulmans Texas BBQ of course I will!!!!

Best Bar-b-que we have ever had. All the meats were moist and flavorful and it was late in the evening. We absolutely loved the half chicken, ribs, turkey and brisket.
We would definitely go back, extra bonus free ice cream cone with purchase. Really hit the spot after a long day on the road.

I found what I wanted in the chicken dinner with 2 sides. The chicken, fried okra, and green beans were all good. The barbecue on the side was delicious. I followed all that with delicious free soft serve ice cream. The only bad thing was that I left overstuffed(but it was so good).

Every time I come through Van, Texas I gotta make the stop at Soul Mans BBQ next to the Love’s Truck Stop. I always get the Soul Man Bowl, it comes Smoke Sausages, Pull Pork, Red Beans, Shredded Cheese, and Frito Chips covered with Barbecue Sauce. And Overnight Truck Parking is Available. Please Drivers don’t mess it up with your bottles and bags.

Great customer service. The mac and cheese was excellent and the fried cabbage was flavorful. The spicy sausage was also very good. The chicken was well-prepared and tasty. The brisket, however, lacked flavor and had no smoke ring.
