My first time eating at “Soulman’s bbq”, will be the last… Where to begin?
Brisket! I’m going to say 1 out of 10, I ordered a half pound of point, looked good. But was almost as tough as gristle. Probably needed a few more hours on the smoker, but I do not think they used a smoker. It had zero smoke ring.
Sausage “spicy”, the sausage was okay, I’d give it a 4 out of 10. Could be spiced for me though.
Pecan pie, I’d have to rate it at a 2 out of 10. Looked good, almost tasted sugar free.
Tea, how do you screw up this? Well they did. I’m going to say they need to double the tea packets to make taste like real Southern tea.
I feel like if I was going hungry and had an extra $30 in my pocket, I’d die with the thirty dollars in my pocket.

I was shocked to find a cockroach cooked inside my beans. It completely ruined my meal and made me lose trust in the food’s cleanliness. When I reported it, they told me I could come back for dinner “on the house,” but honestly, why would I want to eat again at a place where I found a cockroach cooked inside my beans? I’ll be reporting this to their corporate office.

Very good BBQ place! The food was delicious! Brisket was little bit dry, but still delicious. Chicken was so good! Juicy meat! Sausage was great! Overall a had great time here!

** Response to Owner… The staff did not speak to us or acknowledge us at all until after my husband spoke after standing there waiting for them to ask us the same questions they asked the previous guests the moment they stepped up so I wonder if this is the reason we were the only black ppl there besides who were in the kitchen.
When we walked in I thought they were going to say “whites only”, not very friendly to us as the other customers but the ribs and mac n cheese were very delicious!

Absolutely FANTASTIC. What an experience from the moment I walked in to leaving. Curtis an incredible representative of Soulmans, greeted me like we have known each other our whole life. Curtis competed my ordered flawlessly, potatoes were HOT, brisket and pulled pork smoked like a Texan, serving very ample. This Soulmans Bar-B-que is fact the best bar-b-que I’ve ever had!!! And the service, though my family eat there at least 3-4 times weekly, we are always treated with the greatest respect and care to get our order perfect! Thank you Sulphur Springs Soul-man’s Bar-b-que anywhere around!

Very friendly employees!! We are visiting from Virginia, your employees made nice conversations. A rarity nowadays. The cole slaw is the best we have ever had, the French fries were freshly made and salted to perfection. Take care of your great employees!!

Listen, I love their food. I always order ahead, the least they can do is make my food right. I always order two portions of sausage and one portion of pulled pork. They have never given me more than seven or eight slices of sausage, and they always give me two portions of pork.
