The mac and cheese was dry, and had some sort of funky cheese mixed in, giving it an unpleasant taste. The mashed potatoes were like the kind you get in school, (although I do like those potatoes) I would expect more from an actual restaurant. Absolutely no seasoning in the potatoes themselves, but the gravy was alright. The fish was okay, but didn’t have enough flavor outside of being very salty. Tatar sauce was clearly Kraft (or whatever generic bottled sauce) and whatever hot sauce brand used (little packets) was honestly despicable and probably one of the worst aspects of the entire meal. I liked the cornbread muffin, but that’s not enough to make up for the meal. They were out of every single dessert except the chocolate cake which didn’t look very appetizing. I will say, everything came out hot which I appreciate, and the service was great.
Ultimately I am extremely disappointed. I don’t feel like I got the same quality food as what I see in other pictures from this restaurant or from reviews. I ate a little of each item and threw the rest away, none of it being good enough to want to salvage. Not sure if there’s been some staff changes, quality cutbacks, or just a bad day, but I won’t be returning to find out.
However, my only concern is the price inconsistency. I’m not a fan of establishments that charge what they want as opposed to what’s on the menu.
This is a longstanding issue with black-owned businesses (I’m black, so I can say it), so I hope this does not adversely affect yours going forward. I will visit again if I’m in the area.
Tried to do an order over thw phone which i understood why they wouldnt do without the payment. So i went there places an order and was told that it would be 15 mins which i didnt have a ptoblem. When i went back in then i was told it would be another 12 mins which took antotal of 35 mins to get the food that i had ordered. There waa no place to wait and it was hot outside which i know they dont have anything to with tue weather. But to have to wait to get food that long was cery disappointing then to not be able to get the sides that i had ordered on top of it. The fish wasn’t that good and the 2 little.peices for the price, I wouldnt get again. The mac n cheese didnt have flavor and i didnt like the green beans either and the corn bread was dry..i don’t know if they were havibg a bad day or what but to pay $50 for some food and it dudnt taste good i was very disappointed. The wings were good in the soul box and i thought it was priced right but not sure if i would return.
IDK WAT HAPPENED FROM THE TIME I STARTED EATING HERE AND NOW BUT EVERYTIME I ORDER ONLINE I GET A PHONE CALL NOT EVEN 5 MINS LATER TELLN ME THAT THEY ARE OUT OF WATEVER I ORDER IT DOESNT MATTER WAT IT IS.. SO WEN I ADDRESSED IT WEN I GOT THE CALL THAT ITS ALWAYS SOMETHING THE LADY ON THE PHONE GOT VERY UPSET WITH ME AND DEMANDED SHE GIVE MY MONEY BACK.. WELL A GUD PAYN CUSTOMER LOST .. AND NOW A NEGATIVE REVIEW VERY UPSETTING ..
