Speechless! It was an amazing culinary experience, from the appetizer to the drink and the meal. When I say hands down the best soul food in the city, it’s damn good! The lamb was juicy, full of flavor, the collard greens with smoke turkey WOW, garlic mash and mac and cheese was perfectly executed with a side of jerk sauce. The Bad & Bougie Casa was the cherry on a sundae! The jerk chicken egg rolls & salmon bites were incredible! ..and the rest can speak for itself, I’ll definitely be back!

First time visiting Chicago and I was craving some good soul food—and Soul Vibez did not disappoint!

We came on a Friday night around 6pm and, as expected, it was busy. We put our name down and waited about an hour, which honestly flew by thanks to the lively atmosphere and the anticipation of good food.

Once seated, we were greeted by our server, Cassie, who was an absolute gem. She was friendly, attentive, and super helpful in guiding us through the menu.

The food came out in about 20 minutes, and let me tell you—it was worth the wait. Everything was flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and tasted like it was made with love. You can tell this place takes pride in their dishes.

If you’re in Chicago and looking for authentic soul food with great service, Soul Vibez should be at the top of your list. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

The food was very, very good but could not make up for the service. Upon entering, the host did not seem to know where to seat us and put us on a waitlist instead. We ended up being seated at a booth that was empty the entire time we spent waiting. The interaction was a little confusing. We arrived for happy hour and two items were rung up incorrectly resulting in an extra ~$30 added to the bill. Our waitress kindly contacted management and let us know that no managers were on site. After 45 minutes and no response, we decided to pay and leave.

That said, the food itself was spectacular. The portions were large and more than appropriate for happy hour prices. The jerk nachos and wings were delicious. We also enjoyed the vegan chicken and waffles, vegan burger, and Caesar salad. The peach ring margarita and spiked lavender lemonade were also quite good.

Overall, though I personally would not return, I do recommend checking them out and reviewing the order before it is sent to the kitchen, as well as reviewing your final bill before paying.

This spot was delicious. I ordered the catfish that was fried to perfection, jerk chicken egg roll was delicious, hot honey chicken wings was yummy and the Mac and cheese with yams was a hit. The only thing that I didn’t really care for was the fried pound cake, but overall this place is a nice spot to check out

This was my first time here. I tried to go to the Orland Park location last year but it was super packed they weren’t taking anymore people. The wait was about an hour but when I tell you it was well worth it. I’m glad we decided to stick around. Our waitress was great. She had a great demeanor and knew all about the items on the menu. The food…WOW the food was amazing!!! Hands down. I got jerk salmon Alfredo with a side of Mac and cheese. I saw the Mac and cheese on instagram and I couldn’t leave without trying it… my daughter got stuffed salmon and so did my mother… words do this place no justice. You have to try it yourself.

I had an incredible experience on a Tuesday night that I just have to share! The wait time was only about 15-20 minutes, and I decided to relax in the car until it was our turn.

Just as I was making my way across the street, the host came out to greet us! It was a spontaneous outing with my bonus sister, who bravely joined me on a workday when our schedules finally aligned.

We were seated comfortably in a cozy booth and chair—perfect for our small party. I noticed that larger groups were waiting for tables, but the staff managed the smaller space like pros. Our server took our order before clocking out for the day, and after another brief wait of about 15-20 minutes, our refreshing waters arrived, followed by our appetizers just 10 minutes later. We couldn’t resist trying the oysters and jerk chicken nachos.

Let me tell you, the oysters were a treat! They arrived piled high with spinach, Parmesan cheese, and bread crumbs, topped with lemon wedges and a hint of Tabasco sauce. Five on the plate left me wishing for just one more. The jerk chicken nachos were fantastic, too, though I was surprised to find chicken chunks instead of the anticipated shredded chicken. A little extra lettuce, tomatoes, jalapeños, and sour cream mixed throughout would have taken them to the next level!

Soon after, our entrees arrived—a tantalizing stuffed chicken drizzled in a Cajun cream sauce, served with greens, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, and cornbread. The chicken was juicy and flavorful; however, there was a curious comment from my dining partner who thought it tasted somewhat like salmon. I found it delicious, but taste is subjective! The greens were a bit lackluster in flavor, but the macaroni and cheese was a comforting delight. The sweet potatoes stole the show, along with the creamy mac and cheese. The cornbread had an unexpected sweetness, reminiscent of pound cake.

Next, I tried the fried catfish served with creamy grits and more macaroni and cheese. The crust on the catfish was perfection, but I found the actual fish a bit lacking in texture, and the grits felt overly milky. Overall, it was still quite spectacular.

To round off our meal, we indulged in some refreshing lemonade to go—an irresistible blend of mango, peach, and mixed berries that was simply outstanding. The entire vibe, from the service to the food, was wonderful, and I walked away satisfied after spending just $130. What a night!

Just had them for the first time and it was fire! I had the hot honey lemon pepper wings, side of mac and sweet potatoes and my mom had the catfish dinner with greens and mac and cheese. Ended up doing takeout because dining in would’ve been an hour and a half wait for 2 plus the time it takes to prepare the meal. Was quoted a 35 minute wait time for takeout but took an hour, catfish could’ve been better seasoned and the sauce was a little on the salty side for the wings so only taking a star off for that but still recommend checking them out and will return to try other menu options next time I’m in Chicago!
