The owner, Chef Toya was a delight and a generous host. On our trip through Alabama we were looking for a little down home, soul food spot and the Soul Out Cafe hit all the right notes. Fried catfish, chicken tenders and all the fixins filled our plates and our bellies and I’m glad we stopped in to give it a try.
The cafe is just off I-20 and easy to find so stop by and tell Toya we said hi!

This was the only place in town open on a Sunday, and even though I’m not a soul food person, I decided to be brave and give it a try. I wasn’t brave enough to try turkey necks or oxtail, but the ribs, turnip greens and other veggies were wonderful!! The ladies that were working behind the counter were so sweet and so welcoming!

I drove 78 miles round trip from Northport. They opened today @12. I purchased 2 plates of chitterlings w/ sides, saved one for later ♀️. Great selection of meats and vegetables.
Definitely worth the ride to fill one’s SOUL!!! The parking lot was swapped, as expected. People filled the establishment constantly to get their tummy pleased. She has a Facebook page which stays updated on time/days of operation. ✨✨✨✨✨
