We wanted to like this place and the ambience and service was great. The other food may be good too, but the shrimp cocktail (cóctel) was so SO bad. We are not picky eaters at all, but the shrimp tasted like it was on its way out (like low key almost rotten) We left half of it– it was honestly hard to stomach. However, the salsa and Michelada were great so maybe just don’t have seafood and you’ll be ok?

I have eaten at this restaurant several times and enjoyed it every time. Today while I was waiting for my dog to be groomed I decided to go grab an appetizer. I ordered the ceviche both with shrimp and fish. It was excellent. Update: once again while waiting for our dog to be trimmed, we went to have dinner. This time we had Soul of Mexico burritos one was chicken with red sauce. The other was beef with green sauce. Both were very delicious.

We visited today to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, just for the sake of getting out on a Monday.
We arrived at around 4:15 PM and it wasn’t that busy, though the service we got was as though they were jam-packed with customers that had more needs than us.
First, they messed up the drink order. When we asked for a correction, it was just downhill from there.
Chicken nachos are a pretty standard staple menu item, though that’s not what we received. When we asked for that correction, we got what’s shown in the picture.
We would have ordered more food and drinks, but they never checked on us again. They were too busy catering to the table that wasn’t even there yet, which would be a party of 6. They were good at greeting and fraternizing with regulars from the Country Club, but that was the extent.
We were scoping the place to be able to have regular meetings with our organization. We are glad that we received the treatment before bringing more people.
Good they can get it together. Otherwise, it was a $65 lesson for two — with no follow-up deinks or thank you for dining.

Food is damn good. It is a western Mexican restaurant tailored for local clientele which is fine. They start you with warm tortilla chips and delicious salsa. The nachos are good but are large so we only ate half to keep room for mains. Fajitas and chimichanga are delicious and portions are big. All the food is fresh and has good flavours. I only wish they add more chillies and not have you just use hot sauce for those of us who love the heat. I like my chillies cooked with my food. I will go again as they are consistent and the food is really good.

We are staying at an RV Park in Indio and wanted some Mexican Food. We googled and came up with Soul of Mexico. It is located in a shopping center and the place is nicely decorated.
My wife ordered the carnitas and I had the fish tacos. Our food came out in a timely fashion and both dishes were excellent. Our server was attentive and our overall experience was very good.
We would go back again.

Tried this place after receiving their coupon in the mail. Didn’t even know about this place so glad we got the coupon to try it! Food and service were very good. I had enchilada suiza, and my husband had chile rellano and both were excellent. My only complaint would be about the house margarita. Being a margarita snob, I search for great margaritas! Their house margarita did not taste like it had any tequila in it and had no “punch” to it. Very disappointed. The next time we went out for mexican food we went to a different place that does not have food as good as Soul of Mexico, but their margarita is killer. I hope the bartender can perfect his method cuz we’d love to come back! Thank you!

Patty was absolutely amazing. She was so sweet and did a wonderful job. I had to let the manager know how great she was. She truly made my day.You don’t find many servers like her. I definitely will be going back. If you haven’t been here you should try it. The food is delicious and the service is perfection. Thank you Patty for everything.
