This is an amazing restaurant with a great host/chef. There are two main courses to choose from during lunch hours (reservations are highly recommended). One course is a local cuisine while the other is the chefs rotating course. Both course were great, the starters were simple yet full of flavor while the mains were delicious. The meats were tender and packed full of delight. The host who is also the chef was amazing and made the whole lunch great. This is definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

Amazing, cozy restaurant in Beaune. If you are looking for fantastic cooking, great wine recommendations and a cozy, intimate atmosphere with other guests and the chef, this is a must. One of our favorite meals of the trip! The chef/owner runs the whole restaurant and it gives you the feel you are at a friend’s house for a warm, delicious, fabulous meal.

What a perfect small restaurant. We had been watching the weekly menu changes on instagram before our arrival and we were not disappointed. The quality of the food was perfect, the service was spot on, and this is from a one man show so it is quite amazing.
There are two choices on the menu. Either the weekly special or the permanent choice of beef bourgignon. Mathieu gave excellent recommendations on both the food and wine and we were so pleased with everything. It is part of our weekly routine while we are here!

Visited 12th November for lunch. A truly delightful lunch at Soul Kitchen. Had the traditional menu and it truly hit the spot. The boeuf bourguignons was superb, a lump or two on the mashed potatoes but mostly pillowy in texture. The boeuf itself wow with pieces of bacon and mushroom in the stew. The owner Mathieu does it all, even helping diners take photos in mid service. Book early to secure a table and you find it absolutely worthwhile

Very lovely meal and friendly service. Each dish is very clearly carefully designed and seasoned to perfection. If you are only wanting a glass of wine, the chef will make a selection based on your preference of red or white. He even put up with my terrible French!

A fantastic traditional menu. The tarte epoisses was divine: an amazing cheese custard that kicked off the meal perfectly. The beouf bourguignon had a very deep and rich flavour. The mashed potato was buttery and smooth. The host/owner chose a white and red wine that paired well with each course. Highly recommend a trip to this restaurant; you may need to loosen your belt buckle by the end of the meal, but that’s a good thing!

Lovely intimate setting. We started with an aperitif each, both fantastic. Then a local red wine chosen by the chef. They had 2 set menus , we had both. Perfectly cooked duck leg with crispy skin and a superb beef bourgogne with mashed potatoes.
Sauces and sides fresh and perfectly cooked. The desert was wonderful as well. I am sorry I can’t give 6 stars. We reserved this before our trip, best meal so far. WOW. If we ever come back to Beaune, we will book well ahead because you absolutely need a reservation. Our waiter/chef, thank you for this wonderful gastronomic experience

Excellent experience with food and drink here. This is a SMALL restaurant (14 seats) and Mathieu (owner) is a one-man-show, so MAKE RESERVATIONS. Mathieu is an AMAZING cook, and he will make you feel at home.

We visited this restaurant at lunchtime and had the Menu Chauvin. It was exceptional- an exquisite cheese tart to start, followed by a beautiful and rich beef bourginon, and finished with a lovely blackcurrant cream with ginger cake. We had white and red wine by the glass , both were perfect with the food . The service could not have been better and unbelievably the owner does single handedly ! Cooking , serving and being the perfect host ( even helping with my French which I am desperately trying to get better at ) a truly lovely dining experience .
