I truly hope this review can be used as an opportunity to help the business strengthen standardized recipes, elevate execution, and create consistency across the menu.
Alright y’all, this is my honest chef’s perspective review.
When we first walked in, the cashier greeted us. She was shy but very helpful. And honestly, the younger generation can absolutely be shaped and molded into great employees with the right leadership.
They had assorted cakes, cookies, and house-made drinks available to add on, but I didn’t want to get too full since I had to prepare for a retreat later.
Now, my chef eyes don’t turn off. I did catch a glimpse into the kitchen and noticed an aluminum pan of protein sitting on top of an appliance, not properly stored. That was my first red flag.
The second red flag was seeing a cook leave the back, cross the highway, and return with product that was leaking. On top of that, his attire wasn’t appropriate. Owners, we have to do better. Your employees represent your brand at all times.
The wait time for the food was about 40 minutes. For a takeout spot, that’s extremely high. If that’s normal, it’s something that needs attention.
Now let’s talk food.
I ordered fried turkey ribs, mac and cheese, and candied yams. I wanted collard greens, but they weren’t available.
My mom ordered fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans.
The fried turkey ribs were a nice size and crispy, but they were fried too long—dry and slightly over-seasoned. I’d strongly recommend brining and marinating them to help keep them juicy. I’d rate those a 4 out of 10.
The mac and cheese wasn’t for me. I tasted more black pepper than cheese, and it definitely needed more creaminess. It felt like shredded cheese was used instead of a proper cheese sauce. That one was a 0 out of 10.
The candied yams were overly sweet and very syrupy. Sweet potatoes are naturally sweet, so balance is key there. 3 out of 10.
Now, the cornbread was the star of the plate. That was the only item that truly felt Southern to me. It was executed well, and I even grabbed one to go.
Overall, this place has potential. With better kitchen discipline, improved wait times, and more balance in seasoning and technique, it could really be something special.

First we ordered online and the restaurant cancelled it. So we went to the restaurant and ordered. They gave us macaroni that was produced a literal pool or grease and clearly spoiled porkchops fried in the oldest grease and the hardest rock textured batter (you csn see the shards of it on the plate in the pictures i took)!!! Has anyone ever seen gray and brown porkchops?? I haven’t until now. Pork chops are white when fried. Look at this!!! Dont waste your time or your money on this place

I went to the location in Morrow yesterday evening. I specified that I would like my wings crispy. They looked crispy on the outside but they were not even done on the inside. I gave it a couple stars because the homemade hot sauce was good and the yams and Mac and cheese was decent but I could not eat the wings and didn’t get to use the hot sauce.

Second time ordering from this restaurant and I was appalled with my order. I ordered 4 piece fried wings with drizzle and ordered smothered chicken over rice. We had to wait at least 45 minutes when told it would be 29 minutes. When our order was ready the 4 piece chicken became 2 pieces and I quote the wings were so large they only gave me 2 that was burnt……. Not to mention one of the chicken wings was not thoroughly cooked and seasoned heavily with salt if we didn’t have high blood pressure before eating this meal we have it now. Needless to say this will be the last time I travel 30 minutes to eat here….

Sooo my daughters and I was hyped to try this restaurant due to TikTok. However once we got in everything was ok the cashier with the nose piercing she greeted us and took our order. Soooo here’s when things went downhill! First of all the cook! The older lady with the red hair was unprofessional and attitude from the very beginning of saying there was “no red beans and the rice was overcooked anyway”so we had to change the sides up.. The food came and the cabbage and green beans was COLD, I ordered bake chicken and she gave me FRIED CHICKEN because she said to the cashier “there ain’t no bake wings I have a bake quarter leg” the cashier asked did I want the quarter leg so I agreed to it because if there was no bake wings then why not say that? The cook gave me what she wanted me to have! In the process of waiting by the counter and watching the cook in the back she took MY FRIED WINGS THAT I PICKED OVER AND PLACED THEM BACK IN THE FRY BASKET I was shocked and wanted to ask for a refund of everything but I wanted to taste my food to see the hype! Then the cashier asked the cook why is she messing up the orders or something of that nature and then they started arguing. The cashier Told her she came to help her and she about to call someone. The way the cook was talking and her energy from the very beginning was very rude and inappropriate. So my food came and we sat down to eat and my daughter chicken was not done, SIDES COLD! Fried shrimp; NOT FRIED ENOUGH!! Bake chicken flavorful. The cashier came to our table and tried to rectify the uncooked chicken wings and gave us additional wings. We didn’t complain to her because I felt bad for her. She was trying to service the people and take orders, dealing with a poor attitude of a cook who is rushing and mixing up orders and not serving with integrity or decency people are spending their money and this was not IT! Our first experience was a MISS! The hype is just a hype! The food was ok but couldn’t tell how good the Mac was because it was COLD! They served us hot meat and cold sides! We spent 57.00 and went next door to Da fry guy and was very impressed!

I visited the Morrow location, and oh boy I’m not impressed. These were the worst lamb chops I ever had. I purchased lamb chops from a lady who had her stand or pop up at a gas station and they were the best I ever had. Soul Dam Good, these lamb chop was/were very very tuff. I need had lamb chops this stuff before. Not impress with the service or the cookie. The mac and cheese was pretty good, not bad. All in all, I mean this was not impressive, not worth the price.

So we decided to try this place today and was very disappointed. We had to get something else to eat from another restaurant. Pork chops were very dry and had no flavor, the chicken looked as if cooked in dirty oil and tasted as so. Mac and cheese was extremely salty, yams were overcooked and not edible. Red beans and rice was absolutely horrible with no flavor. We gave a high score for service because the lady upfront was very pleasant. Definitely a waste of money for the quality of food.

This is my Favorite after church soul food restaurant. The food is always hot and fresh and the young ladies work in the front counter are always super sweet. Today Cah served me and she was awesome. The food is good as always. Shouts out to the cooks in the back

Came to try this restaurant even despite the reviews which I regret . I only ordered wings & a side of Mac . Waited 30-35 mins for me food when first glanced the Mac seemed a bit dark . But when I went to my car to taste it , it was icy cold no warmth at all . I went to return it , lady did offer me another side of Mac . Which was lighter in color & hot . So yall made me wait for old Mac & yes I agree w the review the Mac & cheese is very very greasy I used multiple napkins to soak up all the oil.

Drove 45 min here and the host was very dry ! The Turkey Ribs are good , mac and cheese to greasy and the cabbage was ok, only took 2 bites. Cornbread was dry was crumbling well eating it . Yams and mashed potatoes are decent. Now the Cornish hen is why i came and it was good
