Now, for the star of the show: the food! We got the mala soft shell crab as a starter. It was spicy & sweet at the same time; truly a delight! My husband and I both ordered the sotbap; I got the salmon and he got the short rib. Both tasted fantastic! The salmon caviar on top of the bowl added a nice, salty pop of flavor. The assortment of banchan that came with the sotbap was also very good. I also got a cocktail, the Neon Seoul, which I thought was delicious, though my husband found it a bit sweet.
We’re both still thinking about all the food the next day Can’t wait to go back and try other dishes
The food was excellent—full of flavor and huge portions, perfect for sharing with friends or family. The vibe was lowkey and chill, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. Highly recommend!
I got the seafood noodles with brisket and was not a fan. Broth was ok. My main issue was with oysters. A bunch of broken pieces of oyster came in my mouth. They are hard so it just became an annoying meal unfortunately cuz I had to be careful. There was a big and kinda sharp piece of oyster that was in my plate too. Shrimps were not deshelled so I had to use my hands which got messy.
Another issue I had was with their chopsticks lol. It might totally be a skill issue on my end though. They have these flat chopsticks that are hard for me to hold.
We got green mango iced tea. It was ok, nothing too crazy. It did come in a cute jug lol
My wife got tofu soup. She said she’s had better ones but it wasn’t bad. Cooked cucumbers in the soup were not welcome
The dessert was a matcha tiramisu. I don’t normally get dessert, but it sounded delicious and it was delicious! Definitely a shareable size. Not too sweet. A great end to the meal.
The staff were very attentive and always checking in.
The menus handed to us were visibly crumpled cardboard—hardly what one expects at a well-rated restaurant. Beyond that, there was no real engagement. No offer of drinks, no attempt to gauge whether we were familiar with Korean cuisine, no guidance, no mention of specials, and no effort to read the table. When I asked a simple question about a dish, the server said they had never tried it and offered nothing further. The interaction felt indifferent and unempathetic, which is particularly disappointing in a hospitality setting.
We ordered two sotbap sets—one chicken and one grilled vegetable. When the food arrived, a kettle of boiling liquid was placed on the table without explanation. As someone not well-versed in Korean cuisine, I genuinely did not know how the sotbap was meant to be eaten. While the menu does include instructions, it had been taken away after ordering. When I asked the server for guidance, the response was a casual “any way you want,” which came across as dismissive.
The food itself was decent but unremarkable. The chicken was grilled well and juicy, yet surprisingly less flavorful than the vegetables. The seasoning was fine, but nothing memorable. When I asked about hot sauce options, the only suggestion was Sriracha—a missed opportunity for a restaurant centered on Korean flavors.
As we were nearing the end of the meal, the check was dropped with a quick “no hurry.” Polite, yes. Warm or welcoming, no. The service throughout felt mechanical, almost robotic, lacking the attentiveness and empathy that elevate a dining experience.
If you are already familiar with Korean cuisine and know exactly what to order, your experience here may be different, perhaps even better. We walked in with a clean slate and walked out with it still clean. The server lacked the knowledge and engagement needed to guide diners, making the experience feel transactional rather than inviting. The food was acceptable, but not compelling enough to offset the service. It would take considerable motivation for me to return.
