Authenticity and judgement aside this is the first time I have seen Asian cuisine commercially prepared by non Asian people. It costs way too much money so I only eat it when other people buy it for me. (Who pays fifteen dollars plus tax for a single entree at a Chinese take out joint?) The Won Tons in the “Won Ton soup” are the worst I have ever had. Besides the Won Tons themselves the “Won Ton soup” is very good. There is an air about the workers, the customers, the advertising and the word of mouth surrounding this place that epitomizes a local cultural phenomenon that I like to call “folk school bourgeois”. So’s Good Kitchen is to Chinese take out what Rare Bird Emporium is to coffee except for that the latter, though serving a similar clientele, has no blemishes and can back up it’s mystique with affordability and proper customer service, two areas where the former is severely lacking. I will continue to eat their food when someone gives it to me or when I have a hankering for Chinese, Chinatown is closed for whatever reason and I can find someone else to pick it up for me because I refuse to step foot on the property. Something just feels off. So’s Good Kitchen is what happens when a person creates an Asian style take out restaurant that aims to be better in quality to the other local Asian style take out restaurant, staffs it with Mexican people, charges exorbitant prices and then all of the locals who have more money and a more “refined” palate than their neighbors sing it’s praises and support it. No self respecting Asian restaurant would ever serve what this restaurant thinks passes for a Won Ton.

So’s Good Kitchen is not so good. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken, chicken and broccoli, and 2 things of chicken fried rice. The chicken and broccoli had a really powdery taste to it, almost like the sauce was a quick mix. The sweet and sour chicken was cold and looked as if it was cooked earlier on and then refried right as we ordered it. The sweet and sour sauce also has bell pepper and pineapple in it, which normally it does not and they failed to tell me that it now has extra additives and I am highly allergic to bell pepper. The chicken and rice was the only thing that wasn’t terrible. There overall customer service was crappy, when I got home and found the bell peppers I called to tell them about it and the worker wanted to tell me that I should’ve asked them what was in the sweet and sour sauce, well last time I checked there should be no additives in sweet and sour sauce. He also proceeded to tell me that I should’ve told them I had an allergy but what I was eating shouldn’t have even had bell peppers. This is definitely NOT “so good,” and I will NEVER be coming back.

Absolutely enjoyed my time here. This place has the BEST, crispiest tofu I’ve had in my time since becoming vegetarian. Presentation was great, and I love my food! Our server was so sweet!! I loved talking to her. She made me feel very welcome. Thank you for the great food and exquisite service

Best Chinese food. Super clean dining room and bathrooms. We had Orange Chicken and Sesame Chicken. Clean meat with thin breading. We live in RV staying in different town every month. Most Chinese places have tiny amount of meat with thick greasy dough. Not this place. Very healthy lean meats. Their fried rice is also fluffy without being oily. Hard to find place like this down south where everything is just swimming in fat.

Not sure why but NOT So’s Good as it used to be. When we first started going there 2+ years ago the food was good but not paying for dryed-out chicken & shrimp anymore.

We like eating outside here when the weather’s nice. Good food and good service. On our most recent visit Hubby really liked the Mongolian Beef and my Singapore Street Noodles dish was very good with just the right amount of spice. Fully loaded and a nice hefty portion. Enough to take half home for another meal.

Seriously, the best Chinese I have ever eaten in the mountains. We had vegetable lo mein, and General tsos, along with hot and sour soup. We also ordered two spring rolls. They were very delicious. The general, was fresh, cut, chicken, not battered or fried, but tossed in a walk with one of the best sauces I’ve had in a long time. Even better than P.F. Chang’s, it was not sweet, but very rich. If you’re looking for high end Chinese food at night, at a moderate price range you found the right place. Compliments to the chef.

This place is a gem in the nice little town of Murphy, NC! Everything was cooked well like the chicken (wasn’t dry and choky). The restaurant was very clean, including the tables (they weren’t sticky!!). And the waitress was very attentive and sweet. We were dining in but ordered more to go because we liked it so much!
I recommend the sesame chicken, General Tso’s chicken, the cheese Rangoon (the sweet and sour sauce is good), and the steamed rice. My husband is picky about his rice and really liked it.
The only things we didn’t love were the orange chicken (a little too sweet/fruity for us), and the Singapore Curry Noodles (didn’t love the flavor but could just be us). Again, everything was cooked well so we ate it anyway. But the sesame chicken and General Tso’s were some of the best we’ve had!
Definitely appreciated this little restaurant and wish it wasn’t so far from us!

We visited after lunch hour today. The environment was very peaceful but wonderful. Bathrooms were CLEAN! I ordered the steamed dumplings and the Happy Family Chow Mein. Yum!!! Best dumplings I’ve tried! The lunch size was well big enough! I’m glad I didn’t order the dinner size; I would have exploded! Our server was super nice and quick! The hostess that sat us was also very pleasant! Will be back! ❤️
