Fun decorations and atmosphere, superb service, great food. Gluten free pasta available. Our server, Hannah, put together cheeses and peppers instead of the usual as my girlfriend is gluten intolerant.
Wonderful experience! Make sure you check out the downstairs which is also thematically decorated.

First time here and the overall dining experience was amazing!!! Free delicious appetizers as you wait at the bar for your dinner. The plates were very large but not extremely over priced. The cannolis were also some of the best I’ve ever had. Great friendly service I will definitely be back!

It is one of the better Italian restaurants I’ve dined at!!! The food is delicious!!! The owner walks around and greets all his customers. The staff is very friendly. They treat you like family. There is one server there though that I think stresses Under Pressure! She can be friendly but for the most part she’s too professional and just wants to get you fed and out the door but I won’t mention her name. Definitely need to give this restaurant a try. You won’t be disappointed

We were driving through and thought (after reading the reviews of this place) to visit it. First , the outside and inside have an architectural charm to the place. As you walk through the parking lot, you hear some nice music playing.
Inside, the restaurant does not appear as fancy as the outside, with some basic tables and chairs, but there are a lot of wonderful paraphernalia on the walls.
The service is very nice. Unfortunately, the food is not. The calamari was not crispy (the breading was under-cooked and very bland). The steak on their salad tasted like hamburger gone bad (some off vinegar taste and smell, it was cold, with no other seasoning to it). The vegetables were decent (nice fresh onions, hefty slices of tomato), but we were underwhelmed by the food.
One last comment– is that the restaurant capitalizes on a very unfortunate stereotype for Italian Americans. The sign for Sortino’s has the R shaped like a gun as you enter. There are signs throughout about the mafia. I do not know if this place is run by the mafia, but if it is not, I think it is deplorable to promote this one-dimensional view of Italian-Americans.

Incredibly friendly staff!! We had New year’s eve dinner here and everything was wonderful! House red wine is fantastic! Portions are very large… we were all stuffed and extremely pleased with our experience. We had 15 total in our party and everyone left happy!!! I had a veal and shrimp dish that I would highly recommend.

We liked the atmosphere, and the staff was very friendly. My husband ordered the pasta soprano and I ordered the pasta mafia. This is where the evening took a turn for the not so good. Both pasta were in cheese sauce that was very heavy and salty. The plate had puddles of sauce. It was very unappetizing. We plan to give the restaurant another try in the future but will stay far away from any dish with cheese sauce.

Went there for the first time and enjoyed everything about the experience. The food was authentic and delicious! Portions were plentiful; had to bring half of it home, along with some cannoli. The atmosphere added to it. Fun place to eat. The owner went from table to table, greeting patrons and making sure everyone was enjoying their dining experience. We will definitely be returning, as well as recommending the place to anyone and everyone!

Great, authentic Italian atmosphere; Excellent attention to details, providing a wonderful experience, one not forgotten. Fantastic service, and unmatched quality of food. All of this in addition to an owner who goes out of his way to ensure you have a quality dining experience. If you are in the Sandusky area, make this an absolute must stop while you’re there;”I Love This Joint!”

If you want good food and good service, don’t go here. Food was decent for Italian food in Ohio but not worth the price. Ridiculously over priced. The owner was nice but the waitress was horrendous. She came to ask if we wanted to place our order but we had just sat down so we said we need a few minutes. After she didn’t return for 20 minutes we asked another worker if she could get our waitress because we were ready to order. Our waitress came out of the kitchen and screamed “gosh, I’m coming” but she still didn’t come to our table for another 10 minutes. She never checked on us during our meal, never got us refills, and took forever to get our bills. Will definitely never go back.
